Like ever other muscle group you have to mix it up. Find what works for you and stick with it for a couple of months then change.
^^x2. I've used drop sets, burn sets, whatever might throw a change at the muscle. And often it takes away any workout monotony I might be feeling.
I agree with Lovbyts. I only directly train them once a week. I train biceps indirectly with back. Triceps get trained indirectly with pressing movements. When I perform work arms I perform antagonistic supersets.

Once a week is plenty
I have to absolutely destroy biceps 2x week to get them sore.
