    Insanity Workout vs P90X

I'm planning on purchasing Insanity Workout today as I'd like to lose some fat. I don't mind if it's at the expense of a little muscle as I won't be taking AAS while doing this. Does anyone think one of these is better than the other for fat loss purposes? I'm open to other suggestions as well. I plan on purchasing tonight.

    Thanks

So i checked out crossfit. There's actually one in my town. That being said, this is the opposite of what I'm looking for. I want to burn fat, ideally with minimal muscle loss. I'd rather burn more fat and lose a little muscle than the opposite. Putting on lbm has always come pretty easy to me, unfortunately so is putting on fat. I also like the idea of something that can be done at home, such as Insanity and P90X.

I was about to bump the post (it would've been my first bump ever, big day right) and after rereading my prior post I realize that it can possibly be misinterpreted as rude to the prior posters. That was def not my intent and I appreciate all suggestions.

my wife is currently doing the insanity workouts and I do a few each week with her for the cardio and I can tell you its not for beginners...the people who are doing the workouts on the dvds are all fitness professionals and even they are suffering through out the workouts...these are cardio workouts through and through(hiit style) so you will burn fat no doubt...I find the workouts fun in a way but definitely kick my ass...

Insanity will make you burn more fat and you will have better cardio. P90x will make you loose fat also but not as much but you will keep more muscle IMO

Insanity is all cardio that's it. I would still look into CrossFit even though you just did. You burn tons of calories because you're doing the workouts very quickly. You gotta run jump squat etc

If you just want to burn fat and get thinner go with insanity. I still don't like that idea but that's the fat shredder and muscle shredder

I train and eat like a bodybuilder and use insanity and mountain biking as cardio and im holding all my muscle...hiit style cardio which is what insanity is is easier on muscle loss than other forms of cardio allegedly and so far so good...if all your doing is cardio than yea your going to loose some mass but the combination of the two makes for a great recomp tool for me..but that's just me and my experience...

Between zone 1 and 2. But no touch vt2 . Vt2 use carbs to fuel
So do the interval slightly higher than vt1 and go down slight lower than vt1.

I did the whole program but the jumping killed my knee!! Can't say that I would do it again. I use some of the warm UPS when I coach though...its a good program!!

Me neither. I understand what VT's are, but not sure what is being recommended here. I think he is saying I should do interval training, alternating bw zone 1 (under VT1) and zone 2 (bw VT1 and VT2). Still not very specific.

Sorry. I make it confuse. Lol
What i meant is do interval training alternating between zone 1 and zone 2. What i learn is zone 1 you burn more fat but less calories. Zone 2 you burn 30%fat 70% carbs. Vt1 50/50. So the best is do interval trainibg between zone1 and zone2. Hope i didnt make it even confuse.

If you wanna lose bf insanity is the way to go, did it 1 1/2 year ago went from 308 down to 264 in the first 6 weeks. Just do it at your own pace. My cardio and bp improved dramatically. I still use it for my cardio when no time for gym. It's f... Hard but fun as hell.
