Talk about motivating
I like this technique a lot. I have tried all this 3 sets in 10 reps tops kind of gibberish and it didn't work for me. I also believe in working till failure and working HARD!
Nothing new here. When I'm on , meaning feeling good energy this is Standard Operating Procedures. I think you will find this is the thought process to have. I know what range of reps or set a range but don't know how many. I stop at failure Warm up and go.. pyramid and drop sets down and Giant set last.

3 sets of 10 only works if your new to lifting (first 6 months or so)...
