need help putting a workout routine together

I'm sick of going to the gym and doing the same exercises each week because I don't want to lose time looking around for what I should be doing.

I need to trim weight and of course gain muscle.. The usual.

Is there a place where I can start?

Trim weight - squat heavy. Add muscle - squat heavy.

Bigtime it's shit at the moment but I'm trying to change that..

I got invited to try crossfit so I'm thinking that might be a good fit for me until I can shed some fat

What's wrong with supplementing with crossfit? I'm not going to do it exclusively.. but I think it's a big winner for building endurance and strength and perhaps some flexibility..

Like anything else it has it's place!

LOL Well I just asked about this today and the answer I got was that CrossFit is more for endurance, this in mind your goal as mine is too is to lose the fat and cut down the BF%... HIIT is the answer for that and with weight training you will lose the body fat while adding the lean muscle mass which seems to be what everyone wants!! With diet in check you can really improve your stats in a short time. This is being compared to "your monotonous workouts" which are not producing the results you want. Check out Austinite's fat loss stack, and the nutrition section. Results are made in the kitchen, I used to train and train and train but with a f***ed up diet I really got nowhere.

My goal is to look good, feel good, get my confidence and self esteem back and I think that's gonna take whatever I can throw at my body so I'll be trying crossfit mwf and weights tues thurs and Saturday splitting body parts: chest tris, back bis and legs shoulders.

My diet is going to include protein for all 6 meals with as much of it coming from food as possible, this means peanut butter for snacks instead of protein bars, real egg whites instead of beaters and a ton of chicken breast and Turkey.

    What say you?

OMG, thank you sooo much for that link to DY's HIT Training clips Rusty. Your efforts did not go unnoticed or wasted.
Didn't know training could be that simple and quick. Tried it Friday, was in and out in just over an hour and left feeling energised and euphoric. Definitely gonna stick with this method from now on! Highly recommended.

Thanks also toMarcus for originally posting the links in his post!

Awesome! It's definitely changing my body. Marcus has a diary in The Lounge. It is packed full of gems. I've learned a lot.

Yeah been reading snippets of his diary every time I get a spare minute. Need a lot of spare minutes to get through it all though (
