Question Crossfit VS HIIT and Weight Training

Hey I wanted to get everyone's opinions on which is better Cross Fit or HIIT with weight training... I wanted to know which you all prefer and or which is better for what. (cutting, lean bulking and so on) I saw a CrossFit post on facebook today and it made me wonder if it's better than what I'm doing now, which is HIIT and weights. Thanks

the cross fit will be limited to developing endurance.. the HIIT will allow you to develop endurance and stamina but then you can add additional weight that will ensure with proper diet continued growth and size..

So if crossfit is better for endurance, is it better for fat burning as well?

optimal weight gain, lean or not will not be possible with endurance. In order to add weight, heavy weightlifting. in order to burn maximum amount of fat - again weightlifting. Squats, pulls, (presses). full body exercises...

So CrossFit really is just the "new" trend??

well yea sorta, but it has some advantages above regular gym training. Coaches will push you further, you will get an introduction to very demanding but rewarding sports. you can have an overall great performance, much greater than any strength inclined gym goer and still be able to run 10k in a decent time. Still, you wont be the best at running, and you wont be the best at weightlifting/powerlifting or gymnastics. Best of all is the spirit at the "boxes" (gyms) its much more fun than any mainstream gym, easier to meet and get to know other people. also to meet hot chicks with ambition in sports.

In order to excel at Crossfit you should be up to 90kg and not taller than 175cm.

all in all its a decent sport that can work properly for anyone, its just that most crossfit coaches are unqualified to coach complex movements like the snatch and Clean and jerk, also in many cases the gymnastics too.

Are you training for a event?

I've done both. Personally hiit training and weights are a better way to go for sports.

In my eyes crossfit is just weight training at a high intensity..thats all I see it as.
Snatches and cleans are not cross fit, that's Olympic lifting, I don't think they should incorporate that shit into cross fit, injuries waiting to happen.

I like the idea of intense workouts, not just a simple arm day or chest day blah blah. Lately I've been doing a lot of super sets, circuit training, jump from exercise to exercise. But also do heavy compounds.
Its been awesome, for me anyways, I just got tired of the same old bodybuiling routines.

Seems like with BMX, you want to be strong. Strong legs, strong upper body. It seems to me that lifting heavy and riding your bike would be enough. Squats, Deadlifts, Rows, Presses and Bench. You can do HIIT on your bike, find good uphills and sprint up them as fast as you can for 30-60 seconds and then turn around and coast down. Repeat. Same would work on a track to. Your chosen sport is your cardio IMO.

CJ I'm right there with you, I got bored of the routine but the routine was producing results. So I just cut the rest time in half and now I can even lift heavy with around 15-30 sec rests in between sets.
