Should i lay off abs for a min?

I'm hurting in my lower back. Probably just a muscle strain. Should I lay off my an routine until it heal? Or would that effect it?

Your call. There are usually ways to work around an injury. Remember, many times back pain is caused either by weak abdominal's or tight hamstrings.

It's in my lower back. It almost feels like sciatica but the pain is only in the muscle in my lower back. There I no leg pain or any of the other symptoms associated with it. Only thing different I've done besides adding a little more weight to my squats I had to load boxes of food and supplies in te back of a van. That kills me every time. Having to stoop over I can bench 350 lb squat 400 lbs or do whatever but having to stoop over for long periods nearly takes me out the game

Definitely odd, but we all seem to have those pains that we can't put a finger on the cause! Pain in the ars. Work around it, give it time and I'm sure you'll be fine. If not, I'd find a chiropractor who has his advanced degree in applied kinesiology. They can do wonders, in my opinion.

Like kel said chiropractors are amazing but hopefully you don't go to one thy thinks thy can cure everything with a fckin packet of herbs and a back alignment. Some are real quacks but some of them really get in there and help alot

Exactly. If you find one that's got it together and does limbs they can do amazing things for you.

On chiropractor note, I had one that messed my back up so bad I couldn't hardly bend over to sit in my truck. After 6 hours of crying pain I went to the emergency room and had to get multiple muscle relaxer injections.

If you must go to one, be very particular and make sure to find one that is well reviewed. I went to one because they could fit me in, obviously there was a reason they had openings. I have no doubts there are great ones out there, but like with anything else there are bad ones too.

I did not know this about tight hams... Interesting.

I've been to probably 6 diff chiros over the years..they are all the same in my eyes.

They put you on a bench, rub your back for a bit, crack your back this way and that way..say have a nice day.

Bottom line, let yourself get better before you do any exercises that aggravate it... if something you do bothers it, don't do it! No point in being out of the game for longer than you have to be.

I feel that Yeah that's probably what I'm gonna do. I do need to get it checked out to make sure it's nothing serious bc it flares up ever so often. Mainly if I have to stoop over. Like I said. I can do pretty much ANYTHING else with no problem. It's weird

I prefer osteopaths as they relax the muscles by massage then crack and snap to re-align
