Can someone please explain to me why I am gagging when I do sit ups, happens within first 15 reps and once I choke on my throat for a min or two I can somewhat force it to go away sometimes not, thanks....

are u flexing the cervical spine (neck) too much? In other words, are u cramming ur head too far fwd (pushing ur chin hard down twd ur chest)? b/c that'd certainly reduce ur ability to breath normally. Try keeping ur head back (more in line with ur spine) to free-up ur esophagus. ur abs (well..at least ur rectus abdominus) starts at ur sternum n runs down to ur pelvis, right? thus ur neck position has nothing to do with contracting ur abs (therfore, no reason to slam it fwd and cutoff breathing...not to mention strain ur neck in general).
my other tip wuld be: make sure ur focusing on flexing the spine (not as much the hip joint) an add more resistance. shouldn't be doing 15+ reps of anything (u wuldnt do 15+ reps for biceps or quads, right. Abs no different. The reason ppl do so many ab reps is b/c theyre doing more hip-flexor work than ab work. But to answer ur question, it sounds like ur cuttin off ur air supply. If im waaay off, then I apologize, bro. regardless of the reason, sounds like ur body tellling u it dsnt like wut ur doing
. the body is pretty bitchy like that, ha. Peace. good luck.
