reps for time??
I've heard many times about time under tension and the best ranges for hypertrophy, but I've never seen anyone discuss reps for time, like you could move a weight thru the tempo you choose for a specific workout but count out seconds instead of individual reps, has anyone done that/heard of that??

Thanks for the question. I hope Marcus will agree with me on this.
Doing more reps and more reps will essentially keep you fit and hard. I feel if you are continually stress the muscle you will keep what you have. This must be intense. You will get a pump but let us not confuse pump with building more fibers. The pump achieve here will be brining more fluids into you muscle hens bring it to a swollen felling and look.
Now I have found that if you do this methodically and yes feel the positive and negative movement with mind to muscle control your form will get better and better. With that if you slowly increase the weight with you may increase the size of the existing fibers existing. This will be slow and not much size will com of it at all. Since your might be reaching a failure point with the increased reps it is no way an over load and the only way to builds more fibers is to reach overload and failure. AND then to keep increasing the weight.
The body is amazing. If you keep reaching failure with a positive movement and keep adding the weigh the body will build in more fibers to enable it self to move it. Without this you will not grow and put on size. ...crazy mike
