    Training program

My son has been hounding me about getting in the gym 15yr old 5'11" 156lb .. Baseball only kid (pitcher).. Right now he runs everyday before school , bleachers 2 days a week mixed with wind sprints , and lower body explosive movements .. Box jumps etc. other days long toss and cage work .. He's highly motivated and pushes hard .. Doesn't need me lol .. Question is should we do a upper body / lower body type of workout ... I don't think my gym routine would be wise

Starting out I'd go with a full body 2/3 days per week. Different workouts each time focusing on compound movements, nothing too fancy just the basics.

there is nothing functional with breaking up to body parts.

the sport of weightlifting is good for children and that is acknowledged by pediatrics and youth sports commissions.
powerlifting and bodybuilding on the other hand are not.

full body exercises are good, and weightlifting consists of nothing else.

i spent my teenage years 13-19 in militairy style training, i liked it - but turns out it took a good toll of my body.

just depends on what he would like to add, baseball is alot about short sprints? then weightlifting is very high on the list, and without any doubt at he top for explosive power in sprinting and jumping
