Conditioning.........instead of cardio HIIT......Bad knees
So since my knee is soooo problematic. 2 surgeries on it, now I have no Meniscus, no cartilage, ACL redone twice, tons of soft tissue and scar tissue work removed and done everything, shaved bone, severe arthritis.....etc.
I have been looking into conditioning to utilize after workouts and on core and cardio days.
I have started with the Rowing Machine and Battle Ropes. Today was my first day after the core workout I did the rowing machine for 3000m's and the battle ropes for 6/6 15 on 30 off. I was SPENT!! Which was only about 30 minutes worth of time.
So I used to do 40mins cardio, 20 constant and 20 super HIIT, but my knee blows up afterwards even on a bicycle.
Wondering what conditioning drills people use that will not be tough on their knees.....??? Never realized how hard "conditioning" was until I went HAM lol.......

I really enjoy swimming now but I don't think that's quite what your looking for. I do 500 meters most days and it's insane how tired I am.

I initially started spin class/cycling bc I had severe tendinitis. Physical therapist suggested I switch bc easier on the knees. I never had any problems and been spinning for 7 years.
I have developed knee pain recently but spinning is not the culprit.

I know the feeling, my knees are worthless and my back is just as bad. The only thing I am able to do to guarantee I have no problems from either when it comes to any kind of conditioning is the elliptical.

You can do HIIT on the elliptical, swimming, etc. The point of HIIT is high intensity followed by short rest then repeat.

what using kettlebells and doing a circuit workout? you can do plenty of exercises in which you will not be pounding your knees and it gets your heart rate up as well.
