I like to focus on each segment (cardio, strength, etc.) individually instead of mixing together. True, it can be quicker and more intense, but I feel it lacks the depth of complete, yet separate programs.
Just my .02
Bump
Am I the only one that has heard of this method
What I've noticed, most people here focus on hypertrophy, not strength training. I used to run 5-3-1 and had pretty good strength gains, but I've never heard of 3-2-1. Sorry man
Haha never heard of 3-2-1 either.
Even some top powerlifters have periods of hypertrophy, strength, and peaking for meets. I have been focused on body composition, so lots of hypertrophy work, but at the same time I do one set devoted to strength each session, not counting warm ups, but it has worked really for me. without any peaking or big strength focus on training I have the most muscle I have ever had, and just a few months ago I was at my lowest body fat, and I am currently the strongest I have ever been.
I googled the 3-2-1 method and all I got was info about barbequing.
Why revive a year old thread? But since you bumped it......
5-3-1 wave loading is outstanding for increasing strength. Post activation potentiation.
I have done it in the past with great success, I kept mine at two waves.
If you are more hypertrophy oriented you can increase the reps, exp 7-5-3 waves.
