Crossfit
I know you guys are mostly body builders. But what's your take on crossfit and Olympic lifting?
Only asking cause I was in a rut for a few years and a friend introduced me to crossfit. I love it and in 2 months dropped 30lbs. Mostly all that fat from drinking. I quit drinking and dialed in my diet. Just looking for your guys opinions.

Nothing against it, but it isn't for me. If it is working for you, keep at it, all depends what your goals are.

Don't fully rely on instructors to correct you if your form is shit. I'm not saying everyone gets hurt doing crossfit; I just know a few people that are awaiting surgery.

Only goal I started with was to get healthy. I feel great. Rarely eat sugar, eat lean meats, make all my meals the night before. It's been going good. I just want to gain some muscle. So not sure if I should do 3 days a week xfit and 3 lifting or stick to my 5 days xfit and a few mile run on Sunday.

It's totally different than bodybuilding. With bodybuilding it's all about time under tension. Meaning you control the weight and burn the muscle out. With Crossfit it's lifting for time. The problem happens when you're lifting for time and you compromise your form you risk serious injury. I own a fitness school and we get former crossfitters that come in after having some pretty major surgeries due to being injured at Crossfit.
Plus, the way they do chinups is BULLSH!T!!!!! HAHA

Olympic lifting and crossfit are two completely different sports. I have the upmost respect for Olympic lifters and the sport itself. Crossfit not so much, nothing against the individual crossfit gyms that run properly and train properly, but many don't, and the way you receive the certificate to teach crossfit is pathetic.
Crossfit competitions are cool though, the judges can be idiots like watching a girl completely fail a deadlift and get green lighted (if that's what you call it). However the top crossfit athletes don't train crossfit directly, they train all of the aspects to it.
Also after seeing the study showing 70% of crossfitters have acquired injuries through crossfit, then crossfit using them for publishing the study as well as the fact that you can become a crossfit trainer over 1 weekends time makes you realise that crossfit are just money hungry.

There is a reason the military does 8-count body builders and not crossfit.
There is a reason the military does 4-count jumping jacks and not crossfit.
I cannot talk much I work off a smith machine :P But I must say throw 150 kilo on a smith and rep it 10 x 10 and the Chinese girls notice. Do a crossfit session and the alternative lifestyle peeps notice more than the girls. I'll stick with the Smithy....
