I skipped a week of gym and I feel ashamed (Advice Needed)

Im thinking of switching to another gym, I hate all the attention I get from my gym buddies for being absent.

I got pretty depressed due to my hormonal imbalance, started smoking cigs again and havent been eating well at all. I feel like a complete loser.

Remember it's a marathon and not a sprint. Drop the smoking ASAP and just get your mind around things and get back at it. Missing a week can be a good thing. Rest is every bit as important to training.

Yeah man, a week off is good. People don't realize muscles need rest to grow. I laugh at those who lift everyday and never rest.

Obviously I wouldnt take a week off all the time but every few months is healthy.

Sounds like your friends are more of a distraction. the gym isn't a social lounge. So you may be better to find a new one if you seem distracted there.

Why the hormonal imbalance? What is that from

I was prescribed Nebido testosterone shots without any diagnosis, I was very young and stupid (22) so I thought it would be a good idea and from there it went downhill, especially because I was also taking Mirtazapine (Remeron) for depression which raised my prolactin.

Its been a tough rollercoaster ride hehe but tomorrow I get my estradiol test to see if Nebido did raise my E2. Ive been asking around if once estrogen levels are raised do they come back to normal with time but I havent got any answers.

Good for starting the process. Don't go near gear any time soon but use the diet and exercise forums for most of your info. What type of results are you looking to achieve? Don't be hard on yourself for missing your workouts . If it was easy everyone would be fit but the reality is most people are fat.

A week off every so often can be a good thing as long as you don't fall completely off the wagon. Cut out the smoking NOW. If it bothers you really bad then just do a deload week instead. Rest is good.

TR are you hungry? You seem a little grumpy there dude.

Just a nice body, good physical condition, and a healthy life .

I got back from the gym, the embarrasement from my gym buddies wasnt a big deal they didnt even care as much as I thought they would.

One thing Im pretty sure of though, Im dropping the godamn cigarattes forever!! Resting just like anyone mentions is right but chain-smoking will just completly destroy me in 1 week.

Time to do some hardwork and good eating.

Smoking is a difficult task to kick. Good luck to you I know hard it is especially when half your friends also smoke. Have you ever tried nicotine gum or Chantix? I got off using 4mg nicotine gum and just keeping hard candy around for when I just craved the act. After you quit expect to cough up random gray stuff for the next couple months. How long have you been smoking for?

Smoking is a hard son of a gun to kick. You can do it. Next craving you get, take the largest and deepest breath of fresh air you can. Breathe in until your lungs almost hurt. Repeat this a few times. You will get a little dizzy but the pain you get in your lungs will be similar to the feeling you get on a deep inhale of a cig. This will help the craving pass.

Next time you get burny out on lifting in the gym, take a week off and do something else like HIIT cardio outside or go run hills. Anything to break up the mundane pattern. You aren't training to be the next pro bodybuilder, enjoy your workouts. Doing anything is better than sitting on the couch, watching movies and smoking those god foresaken cigarettes.

Remember not to worry about what others think. Screw them! The only person you are trying to be better than is yourself yesterday. (yea, read that on a poster I think)
