How do bodybuilders improve isolated muscles?

    Hi,

Given that pro bodybuilders already work all of their muscles to the max, if they feel that certain muscles are lacking, how do they improve them, given that they are already working all their muscles for maximum growth. How do they get "extra-extra" growth on certain muscles, do they increase the volume on that area? Say, more calf isolation exercises?

The two most out of proportion areas on my body are my calves and my forearms. Given that I work out 4/5 days a week, do I just do extra isolation exercises on my calves and forearms (on the relevant arm/leg day), or is there another way to best target these areas to bring my overall body back into proportion?

Calves and forearms heavily depends on your genetics, calves more so. But yes most will just increase frequency for lacking areas.

Best thing for forearms is heavy ass rows, deadlifts, pull-ups and HIIT intervals of beating the meat, 30 seconds per arm, 5 sets. Repeat 3x daily.

another way, is if you are already taxing your CNS, you could back off the over developed area abit and constructively spend your CNS allowance from that in the area that needs isolation.

but some blokes seem to have a very durable CNS. I think I did when I was younger. Shit, I can't remember...............?

Yup, just hit those muscles harder and with more frequency. If your for arms are lacking, hit them first on arms day, not last. Same with calves. I felt my arms were lacking, so for the past two months I have worked them out every day. At the end of each day's work out I did two exercises, three sets each.

Many people say working arms ever day can be detrimental to growth, even make your arms smaller. That is definitely not the case with me. My arms have never been so full of big in my life. My bicep peak is much bigger than it ever has been.

Sorry for late reply on this one, I've been away with work. So I will do extra volume on calves and forearms although I will make sure on leg and arm days that I do these exercises first.

Regarding working these muslces ever day as you have done with your arms, I have heard as you said, that this is detrimental to growth. Maybe some more knowledgeable members could comment on this?

I already do deadlifts and pull ups once a week on back day, but I stick to 4x8. Would you suggest I do this on arm day too, but use the HIIT method?
