Thread: New to bodybuilding, help!

    New to bodybuilding, help!

    I'm trying to start bodybuilding and need help making a good workout routine. I'm 20, 155lbs, height 5'8" and around 14-16 bodyfat depending on the time of day. This is my current workout plan. So basically if someone can help me modify my routine I would truly appreciate it!

    Welcome to the forum.

    Wow, new to BB. You've got some exciting times ahead. As for your training routine it's quite hard to read - maybe it's my eyes - but I didn't see squats or dead lifts in your routine. It's gonna be these lifts that are gonna force your body to grow and you will gain tremendous strength as time goes by.

    There are more experienced people on here that can address your routine further. However, no one can tell you what is best for your body - that you will have to find out for yourself.

    Yeah man that routine is kind of difficult to read, just post your split and diet up. If you've just started your main focus should obviously be progressing on the big lifts, squats,bench, dead-lifts, military/clean press, should be the core of your workouts, just make sure your adding more weight to the bar or doing at least 1 more rep on those every week and you will grow, keep the isolation and machine lifts to a minimum for now. Start to get your strength up. Just don't over complicate things like a lot of people do. Make sure your getting your form down for all the compounds and getting your meals in.
