Ok so I'm cutting up for a competition, is strength loss to be expected ? is it just a mental thing ? or is it just the lack of fuel at the right tyime ?

Its an actual thing.....the lack of glycogen will hamper your strength and workout length.Quote:

This is where HIT style training really shines. Hard, intense, and fast. Get in and out of the gym!
Of course, when losing pounds its not just the fat that leaves, its also a little muscle too. You can be big and lean, its a lot of genetics though.
This becomes more of a concern once you start to get in the low teens...not so much in the high teens and beyond unless the person isn't eating sufficient protein.Quote:
