Why am I making faster gains in seated calf raise over standing calf raise?

I do them both every time I do calves. Same intensity.

If you're doing them both every session how would you know you're eliciting more hypertrophy from one?

I wonder this as well. Are you basing it on the burn your feeling whole doing sets of each? I prefer standing calf raises, i feel i get a better "stretch" at the bottom and top of my ROM

Im basing this mostly on strength gains measured by amount of weight lifted because size is difficult to measure.
Additionally and highly unscientifically I can sort of feel the inner part of the calf working more than the outer part when I walk.

Do you do them in the same order every time you work calves? You can and should vary the reps and sets for each movement every couple of weeks.

Also in addition to this you can train calves literally 3 4 times a week. Pretty much every other day. Beat the hell out of them drop sets etc.. That'll get them growing for you

As stated there is no way of knowing which is more effective.......You grow out of the gym, not in it.
