    Calves

Have been doing plenty of workouts for my calves lately and can not seem to increase their size. Anyone have any advice on what I should do?

You can literally do calves every other day. Standing calf raises or seated or any variation there of. 3 or 4 sets of 20 per exercise is my sweetspot. Calve size like so many other muscles are determined by genetics.

    That's the painful truth.

I put half an inch on mine by gaining 3kg in a month lol, that leads me to believe the answer to big calves is getting fat -.- You don't see too many obese guys with small calves right?

All of the above is true. However you see so many people get carried away with adding weight that they wind up doing more of a calf bounce than a calf raise. You may have to reduce the weight but FULL reps with a pause at the top and bottom will really work the calf muscle. Let it really stretch at the bottom and hold the contraction at the top.

This is what i've done recently, and started to treat them like any other muscle, adding weight and volume slowly and really trying to feel it work. Can't say i've noticed any extra development though

This...punish the hell out of them. For warm ups i do high reps and for working sets i really like drop sets. Its quick and it'll get them burning

As said, genetics play a huge role probably for calves more than any other muscle. Train to failure much like abs is the only way I have ever seen results.

One exercise which helped me a lot (without using for calves) was clean pulls. Good exercise to do anyways

I am doing calves almost every work out using different exercises, vary sets & reps. This helped a lot to progress.
