Medial delts from overhead pressing?

Hypothetical scenario...



This dude does a bodybuilding program consisting of the following multi-jointed exercises, in no particular order:

Squats, deadlifts, overhead presses, bench presses, bent-over rows, hammer curls, and hang cleans.

And then he puts the aforementioned exercises into a sound training program, consisting of nothing but those exercises alone, done with optimal set and rep scheme (whatever that may be), eats 5,000 calories a day, and despite his lack of roid usage, has the genetic capacity of Hercules...



...Assuming he does those exercises and progresses with them well, ending with a 600-pound squat, a 700-pound deadlift, and a 350-pound overhead press, will his medial deltoids lag?

If so, to what degree will they lag?

Lag how? If he can put up that weight then he isn't lagging as a PL and he obviously isn't a BB if he is training for that type of strength and not focussing on just hypertrophy.

Not lag as in not have a severely disproportionate deltoid development by "people standards".

Like, if he was in a pro BB contest he'd get points deducted, but not by other people with their "normy standards".

He wouldn't be a pro bb and just do what you outlined nor would he be very cut at 5k a day and dealing with those poundages. They are two VERY different things.

It's just a silly question tbh, i dislike absurd hypothetical questions like these as there really is no answer, there's way to many variables.

If your underlying question is can you slack off on working your delts and get great delts by bodybuilding standards, the answer is no. Your delts will not look well rounded just from OHP.

Delts big? Probably yes.

Delts balanced per BB standards? No
