    Which is better?

Hey all. Which is better for the chest? Dumbells or Barbells? I guess you can say if one is trying to grow. Friend and myself are having an argument about this. I say Bench to grow. But what advantage does the Dumbell have on the chest?

Both..change them up..for example..sometimes I do Incline barbell and then flat bench dumbells..and then another time I do flat bench barbell and then incline dumbell.

With barbell movements you will find that you can go a little heavier...but you range of motion is not a far on the negative as it is in the dumbells since the dumbells are not stopped on you chest liket the bar is.

I combination of both IMO is the way to go.

Barbells you can use more weight and dumbells you get more of a stretch so i would alternate them.

IMO barbell's build density, thickness and strength, only because you can handle so much more weight. For example look at some of the biggest pro bodybuilders and some of the world class powerlifters, they are all huge benchers and they are all as thick as shithouse walls. But I agree with everyone else diversify use dumbells and barbells, breaks up boredom and give you a chance to recuperate from the heavy benching.

    good luck

I agree. From what I've been told, do both. One week do dumbel, the next week do barbell. Feels good on the muscles. Personally I don't like to take too much of a long break from the barbell, cause your strength (or at least in my case) decreased when I went back to normal flat with barbell : (

    Thnx

    Barbell's for strength!

Dumbell's for development, more supporting muscles used, better
stretch, no bouncing bar off your chest, no cheating.

But like the rest said , mix it up !
