Thumbs up Tips on how to avoid injury on cycle. Seasoned vets, please respond. :)

Hey, just wanted to get some information on how to avoid injury while training hard on cycle.
I hear about people tearing tendons quite often, and that sounds like a nightmare.
Muscles grow significantly faster than tendons, and the muscle anchor can get ripped from the bone!!

This surgery isn't something I want to experience.
Anybody had this happen to them??
Any and all recommendations on how to stay injury-free are welcome.

I just noticed there is an injury section.
Feel free to move the thread there if it's more appropriate & will get more responses.

    Thank you in advance!

Only tips I have are to warm up properly and dont cycle after taking time off or returning from an injury. Make sure you have been training regularly for some time before running a cycle so your tendons/ligaments have plenty of time to be strengthened.

I'm not sure if they're considered a warm up, but I find doing 2-3 feeler sets before a working set crucial to staying injury free and obtaining true muscle failure.

Correct form would be a certain to stop injury...as above warm up, mobility work for joints, specific drills for the exercise. Correct food intake for recovery.

I'm sure I've read that training negatives builds tendon strength. Something to look into.

I think you are doing everything right and positive gains, so keep on going because I think I could learn some things from you. How much are you squatting and benching ,do you have any ideas that everyone on here can do to make things easier and more productive? I would love to hear about your workout schedule.

I've not had a total tendon rupture but I have experienced partial tears. One word of advice.......if you are experiencing significant soreness in a tendon STOP!!!! If it hurts STOP!!!! This is different from the normal workout pain which can be enjoyable. Take a break or reduce the weight significantly. There is no meet or contest worth a serious injury. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Glucosamine and chondroitin twice a day for maintenance. 5 to 10mg of MSM a day while training. Deload weeks and deload workouts go a long way in preventing injury.
