How many excersies do you guys believe is enough for full chest workout? And what sets? Mostly I do 4 excersies with 4 working sets , but most of time I don't feel the burn that I want , would be normal to do more sets or more excersies without ptentionally injuring yourself?

Going to depend on your goals, how long you have been training, diet and age.

Just depends genetically...If you have big arms it may be tougher to get a good chest pump as it's a harder fascia for you...If you have good chest genetics all you would really need is smith machine and some cables and that would create you a great chest..

Sounds like your just going through the motions on so many sets and reps. Learn how to really dig deep and fully work the muscle by focusing on intensity, failure and muscle recruitment. Its not how many you do its how you work and push to your limit. I do one working set on each of my movements and that's enough because I know I couldn't get anymore out by doing another set. Learn some new training styles and techniques

Thanks, I'll try some other methods, because it really is pretty much going through motion at this point ...

marcus has a great point... i recently went from more conventional sequence (pyramid or decreasing) to more hit (double drop sets, only one or two after warm up). the pump, intensity, size/density has improved, but 1rm is definitely down (by a lot! but cant have cake and eat it too it seems).

I say dumbell, incline ,flat then cable Flys incline and flat then throw in some Dips and finish off with pec Dec or cable cross overs. I'm constantly changing my reps and sets.

Still sored from yesterday chestwork. Only thing I did was

bb bench press, 2 light warmups, 1 dropset starting with weight for 6-7 reps then lowering 20lbs each till I only had one plate, always till failure and bar touching chest
Incline db press, facing palms cause of elbows, 1 feeler, 2 working, last one superset with incline flies
Finnished with one last flies with 2 dropsets to complete failure

Couldnt really do much more at the end...

    Hey LordGains
Chest is not my biggest muscle and I have had the same problem getting the feeling of a good chest workout. Lately I've been doing the GVT program and on ********* there was an article called OVT (Optimized Volume Training) i did a chest workout today and REALLY felt it. Might be worthwhile checking out.

Education is important... but being hooj is important'er.

Training volume is actually the primary factor for hypertrophy as well as metabolic fatigue and mechanical tension.
