    Question on motivation

So we all, or at least I'd say a lot of us, have that one body part that isn't the most fun to train. For me...it's leg day. I still work out legs but I don't feel like I enjoy it as much as my other workouts and in that sense I don't feel like I give it my all. So my question is....what do you all do to push your hardest on those body parts you don't enjoy training? Is there a trick or a way to get into the mindset that works? I appreciate everyone's input. And if you are the type that loves all body parts I welcome your opinion too. Thanks in advance

One trick to be able to push harder on leg day is too split quads and hams.

If you really push both it can be quite debilitating, and then on top you want to do calves too... too much, so you tend to slack so you can push through. Not ideal if growth is your objective.

Have a separate day for hams and calves, smash'em... and then comeback later in the week for only quads. Quads is the biggest muscle you have, if you wanna take it to failure takes quite some mental preparation. You just need squats and extensions to destroy quads, sure you can add a 3rd exercise and some abductor/adductor exercise, but more than that you either not using enough intensity or you will overtrain.

It's not just you, everyone hates legs a little because they are hard! I will usually watch some feats of strength leg videos before, listen to some music that psychs me up and im good to go.

Awesome advice! Thank you. I've been lifting for a consecutive 5+ years and I'll admit I've never broken leg day up. I've always hit everything in one go. I'll implement that this coming week and see how it goes. In theory it makes a lot of sense and I've never claimed to know it all. Thanks again

Not true, I love leg day, the heavier the better. If I can walk out of the gym easily afterwards I haven't done as much as I should have. Actually all my workouts are as heavy as possible...

See.....I knew there would be at least one person that loves leg days lol. I've tried watching the youtube motivational videos too on the way to the gym. Some times that works and sometimes it doesn't. I still appreciate the comments. I'm definitely gonna try to split up leg days and am open to any other suggestions. Happy work outs guys

Checking out videos and pics of bodybuilders that I admire with those attributes. I used to hate LEG training and now its my favorite part of training. Having a variety of equipment can help keep it mixed up and interesting.

While squats are really the backbone of any leg day maybe you just need to change things up and try something different. You can play around with bar placement on the traps whether high or low. Try some front squats. Box squats or zercher squats. And sometimes you can just replace squats on leg day with the good old leg press. Give your brain something new to be excited about.
