    Anyone jump rope?

Just curious if anyone jumps rope as cardio - use to a lot as a teen, buying a rope tomorrow to start up again.

Sometimes jump rope for "cardio acceleration." In quotes bc not sure that's what it's typically called. 1 minute high intensity interval between sets. Been a while since I've done that tho

Almost exclusively inside. I have a Rouge Speed Rope as doing dubble unders is a requirement for me.

Definitely, I've really enjoyed getting better at it. I couldn't get into a good rhythm with double unders until I got a proper cable rope w/ bearing'd handles from RXsmart gear. It become much more like HITT cardio once you can do doubles. Backed off lately since I had some knee tendonitis but I'll be back to it eventually. You can also get heavy weighted ropes to up the intensity without doing doubles, very underrated training tool imo. Good luck & Enjoy!

My daughter did until she tired her radio flyer wagon to her bike.

I caught my son trying and said, "HEY THATS GAY! STOPIT!"

Me and some guys at the gym get the chalk out sometimes and draw a hopscotch grid.
Woooweee talk about getting that heart rate up.
It helps to rhyme as you do it.

"Little sally walker walking down the street..."

Hopscotch brings me back to elementary school days oh wow.

Love the rope jumping, breaks up the boredom of walking

No, bought one, couldn't get the rhythm down, and the impact was causing knee problems. It is supposed to be one of the best cardio exercises there is though.

Jumping rope is a great workout. I read a write up about trampoline workout where it was saying that the muscles work at a cellular level as it works against gravity as the body is accelerated through negative g's. Jumping rope is very similar. Each time to body pushes off the ground it experiences negative g's. I just like jumping rope as it makes me feel light and coordinated.

Jumping rope is definitely a great form of cardio, I used to box and that was of course part of the daily warmups and circuits.

Get a couple long jump ropes and round up a few of the bois at the gym, you can get a little double Dutch going and give each other hj’s afterwards.

But seriously, it’s a good workout. I actually over did it though and had horrible shin splints from doing it so much. I had to do it on a mat for a couple months because my trainer was afraid I might have had fractures in my shins.

I like to use the weighted jump ropes. And change it up a bit, have some music playing, try jumping to different rhythms, changing feet going in reverse and crisscrossing. Don’t just jump in one place, move around.
