How do you like it compared to the conventional bar? Stance looks like it might be awkward depending on placement.

Actually, I think that it is good for getting correct form for those that do not have correct form.

I would like it. I hate getting my arms back as far as the back of my traps. I want one.

This reminds me of Dave Draper’s “Top Squat” device

I used it once, it work well. After my shoulder surgery my damn arms can reach back to grab the bar for the back squat. It literally takes me 10 minutes of stretching to reach back and grab the bar. I liked the squat bar because I could grab it without reaching back. For you young guys with good shoulders, it's probably not worth it.

Yea I ended up buying a regular bar. I'll save the squat bar for when I have money to blow and want to show off to people my gym.

They work well if you have shoulder or elbow issues that prevent you from getting a comfortable grip. The main thing I see people do wrong with this type of bar is push up on the handles when coming up out of the hole. This pushes the weight out in front of you which is exactly what you don't want in regards to stability.
Instead of buying a safety squat bar, some people opt for Zercher squats ( it isn't wimpy if you wrap the bar with a towel when you do these).
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...
