Tendon? Above Knee Chronically Sore
Although I’ve worked out over the years, never really done squats or deadlifts, fearing I would injure my lumbar (had past surgery).
Now, I’ve learned proper form, and not only are these exercises not hurting me, I’ve built up the weight over time and I’m completely pain free.
So I did 225 5x yesterday squat and 315 deadlift with the cambered bar 5X. I’m a little scared to do SRM’s without building up more slowly.
The only side effect I’ve been having is chronic soreness in the tendon immediately above my knee.
I plan to research this anatomy. I don’t even know if it’s really a tendon. The heavier I go, the more sore it gets. But, unlike the muscles, it never recovers. I feel it every time I do a squatting motion irl.
Other than ice, any advice ?

Would need more information to have a better guess, but maybe don't deadlift and squat in the same week, or at least don't go heavy on both in the same week.
