    Partial Plyometric training

I pose an interesting question. When I lift heavy I tend to push or pull(depending on the exercise) very explosively. i.e. I use max force to literally throw the weights up. On my concentric movement, I go slow to get maximum resistance. Now knowing that plyometrics are mainly used for strength building, my question being; I am trying to acheive the BB look, not the power lifter. SHould I do the eccentric movement slower? When I try this I find I am unable to push as much weight. Any opinions???
