Starting in HS is a risk some of these kids are willing to take. Unfortunately a lot of them do not know enough and WILL hurt themselves in the future. But many of the top recruits coming out of HS are without a doubt on steroids. I personally waited until college to start, so I am not defending myself here. But I guess it's just the reality of things is that some kids benefit greatly from juice and in turn can earn scholorships to D1 schools. But by no means will juice make you a great player. Unless you have a legit shot at making it big in the sport, I wouldn't risk it until you are fully matured.
D-Snap. 19 is not unreasonable, but it really depends on what you are already like. If you are short, then your screwed. Big programs won't even look at linemen under 6'2'' unless they are a complete standout. By saying this I mean that if you believe you have a few more inches in you, then I would not risk the closing of your growth plates. Again I have no clue how tall you are, so I don't know if this applies to you. How about you post your stats such as 40 time, Lifts, Height, and Weight. That will help everyone here out a lot in giving you advice.
And as for your friend. Steroids will not make him lose weight. Cardio and diet will.
