Knee injury doc. stumped

all right guys any suggs. on this, I have been having knee pain and swelling, started while playing football no contact on it and did not really notice immediately next day alot of soreness took a few weeks slow, then in the gym had pain doing squats and got worse the more I did, so took more time off which sucks, went to the doc. had mri. done and came back clean went on naprosyn every day and saw little improvement still light pain after playing golf (lots of walking) have started rehab program of light weights and ice, what more should I do? I have a specialits who handled my other knee in high school when I tore mcl thinking about goin back to him but he is a long drive away, any suggestions? diagnosis?

ever had problems with cartilage? could be a meniscus tear...as well as an array of other problems really. You may just want another opinon on your mri

yea I was wondering how easy it is to over pass something on a MRI it was not a specialist reading the mri just a family doc. that is also a sports trainer

no other cartilage problems except for the tear in my opposite knee 4 years ago but that was mcl mainly I think

if the mri is clean, it makes it impossible to diagnose, if it was a meniscus tear or a cruciate ligment tear it would have shown. do the therapy, rest and ice it, you don't have much of a chioce. do you have a solid rehab program? list it for me.

no looking for a good program and found several different ones what do you suggest

can you email me them and let me look them over? or can you give me a brief dicription of the ones you have. always keep the weights low reps btwn 10 -15. best advice i can give for rt now without seeing the exercises

the main things I have read or have been given by my old trainer were that I should start every workout with a warm up with no weight in various positions, next begin doing the usual excersises ie. leg press, leg extensions, ham curls, .... with like you said little weight and high reps, I have the most problems squatting so my trainer said to hold on to something and lower myself to full contraction and gradually use less and less arm power until I get to squatting normally, and of course ice after workout, shower, then more ice. How long does this usually take when done correctly? Ant critique of workout?

workout is fine, how long depends on you,everyone is different. i wouls say 12 wks should be about rt, you may not be 100% but pretty close
