Have you consulted a doctor? Or a specialist? How long did THEY tell you to wait before lifting?
How is it you have a bulging L5 disc and do not know anything about it? Get information about it from your doctor, not from anonymous internet posters.
i had the same injury.. took me 4 weeks before i could do any compound movements at all.. and then very light with very strict form. I was also in heavy physical therapy for those 4 weeks, and the following 8 weeks.
i went to a dr he said wait two months then go very easy i just wanted to see if anyone else had this same problemQuote:

I went to the doc and he told me that I had a bulging disc between my 2nd & 3rd, and 4th & 5th vertebre. He said it was not caused by working out but probably happened from something else. He said there is nothing that can be done and said go back to the gym when I feel fine and go light building back up to heavy weights. Well I went back to the gym the next day but went light. It took me about 2 weeks to get back to normal. He said if it ever bothers me real bad I will have to have surgery. Well thats my story hope it helps.
