something you need to try different numbers of sets and see what is going to work for you. Personally i do better with volume i do 12-16 sets per muscle group, bit more for larger groups like back and legs when cutting.

At the moment I just want to put as much mass on I can.

For mass i would start out with about 10-14 sets per muscle group, you are only training each one 1x week, so if your eating right should have lots of recovery time. Key is this, i do volume but usually one 3-4 working sets, rest are warm up or some type of exercise to give me a nice pump. On working sets push hard, maybe forced rep or two, superset, drop set, i beleive key is change a little something every workout.

look at the anabolic work out for your template
4-6 sets at 6-8 reps for mass

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you lift one body part a week can't you do a few more sets than if you lifted that body part twice a week. You muscle has more time to recover. I tend to stay between 12-15 sets on major and 12 sets on smaller body parts and I lift a body part once a week. I have found that my size has increased compared to lifting a body part twice a week. However, all bodies are different. So what works for me may not work for the next guy.

TYPICAL RANGE TO BE IN IS 12-16 SETS, BUT REMEBER TO CHANGE THEM OP. GO LOW FOR HIGH SETS FOR A COUPLE OF WKS, THEN GO HIGH REPS FOR LESS SETS. HEAVY GO FOR 4-8 REPS 3-4 SETS, HIGH REP STAY UNDER 10 REPS 2-3 SETS
