I would like to go to a jewelry show in new york and it is located at the Jacob Javits convention center. Has anyone been to this center and how is the area?:scratch: Would you have to take a cab every where or what is best (forgive me if it sounds odd asking this because in the mid west we drive everywhere and I've never been to new york:1laugh: ) Any info would be most helpful:wg:
where are you staying? area is beautiful. kind of need to know where in manhattan you are staying to tell you how to get there.

$200 a night if its during the week. food is expensive. id take the subway not a taxi. taxi fares can get expensive where as 2 bucks get you anywhere in the city.
Dang, I didn't know things were so high. Here nice hotel rooms run $50-$125 a night:) Never been on a subway, do you ever worry about getting mugged or have what I've seen on tv and heard blown out of proprtion?:(

its def. possible to get mugged, it is ny...but the subway is the best way to travel around there...jacob javits center is nice...most likely will be a very good show..yes everything is expensive...

For people that live in the city (Manhattan) it is best to take cabs or train everywhere because the traffic is just crazy. People like myself who live in the suburbs like Brooklyn or Queens it's fine to drive because there is not as much congestion. I mean when we go out to the city for dinner or club we drive but it's usually late at night when there is not so much traffic.Quote:

If you live outside of the Manhattan it's more convenient to have a car. I live in Brooklyn and I ride the subway. It's a pain in the ass getting home late at night. A 45 minute train ride plus 10 minute walk.Quote:
