    flat bench?? none..

    seated military press 8x

    incline 8x
but i'm old so i'm not sure that counts.. problem like many have, once you do it, whats the next goal?? 8 plates?? mentally it's an issue..

how much more muscle will you be able to build size wise bay adding yet more weight.. unless you are power training what's the point??

I feel ya....I usually throw on 3 plates then immediately drop it down to 225 and rep it out then down to 135...I like doing that. But I agree, going past 315 is risky.

I just recently got in that zone of going high, I hit 370lbs for 2 reps but my wrists feel pretty sore sometimes. Gotta watch out not to get hurt for sure. I went for 400lbs recently but couldnt make the rep.

I don't think there is a reason to be scared of heavy weight. However, pointless heavy weight. imo, if youre doing sets under 5-6 reps, start powerlifting or stop it lol. But I am guility sometimes, ego gets the best of me and I'll do what Redz does...pop on 365 and see what happens.

I don't see the point of looking like you can bench 405 or what have you and not being able to even bench 315.....there has to be a balance struck

The only response I can give you is maybe most guys get very little benefit from doing flat bench. Look at spy- 315x8 on the incline. Apparently his body produces better results with Incline.

well i'll grant that....i love flat though....and doing drops the pump is unreal

also though....alot of people don't do flat right to maximize chest involvement....grabbing too narrow....elbows up too high, etc.....and they just chalk it up to it not being a good exercise for them personally

4 solid reps, and 2 more half reps. That is all I can get. Hopefully I can get it to about 12 reps in the near future

    6-8 times at this point.

I'm really surprised guys that spend this much time on this board in particular don't flat bench over 315.

I always figured I was one of the smaller, weaker guys because I'm 210lbs and don't really want to get 20lbs heavier. I like to keep my weight between 200-220lbs at 6'.

only a couple of times, shoulders are both pretty jacked up. Plus my upper body is not that strong.

last day I went very heavy, I got it 2 at the highest point of my pyramid, but the second one was a little on the ugly side.
Bench press (chest) is probably my best lift.

If I tried 315 I would probably blow out my shoulder. I will stick with doing 265 bl reps for now as my max.

I think there is a LOT more to form and doing SLOW reps than how much you can bench/lift unless that is your goals.

I know I am going to get hell for this but I think deads are complete bullshit. A lot of people claim its the number one mass building compound blah blah blah...Your biceps wont grow unless you do deads..your hamstrings wont grow...you wont gain weight...yeah bs....SQUAT, BENCH PRESS, MILITARY PRESS for the win. I would much rather have super crazy wide lats than a really thick lower back. just me .02
