BMI too high for surgery!!!!!!!!!
I was refused gyno surgery because my BMI is too high!
They rejected me flat out after seeing my BMI figures, i've not even had a consultation so I'm guessing they think I'm a huge fat ass!
Obviously I'm applealing this.
I've been googling to see if extra muscle mass leads to any increased risk post surgery and I can't find a thing!
Any input you guys have would great.

I might just do that lol.
I’ve sent the consultant an email explaining the situation and my GP has backed it up so hopefully the decision is over turned because to the best of my knowledge having excess muscle does not put you at any greater risk during or post surgery like excess body fat does.

I hate BMI, it's such a load of shit. There are too many variables going on for the scale to be used for anything official.

BMI is a pretty descent measure for sedentary adults, for those that are athletic and or have lots of muscle mass it is not a good indicator at all. We all know this, the Doc just assumed he was a fatty.
