When the landlord rents to you, he is selling you the right to exclusive possession. That is what renting is.
He cannot change the locks on you, even if he is having a disagreement with you. Nor can he demand you expose any of your property. As well, he cannot even contact your employer, etc.
If he begins to harass you about it, or ANYTHING for that matter, and begins to make you feel uneasy or invades your peace of mind (your right to quiet enjoyment), this is called "constructive eviction".
Basically trying to work you out of the house.
You have serious rights as a tenant so don't let this guy mess with you.
