There is a benefit to risk ratio of everything. I do not smoke. I do not plan on starting. There is a lot of research pointing toward the risks and problems related with smoking. There are also some benefits though, and I take the unbiased approach to everything and try and present the facts, regardless of what they are.

Where did you get this? I'm guessing there are also references?

12)Increased Dietary Protein Promotes Weight Loss

    I dont like this statement...

Excess dietary protein increases protein oxidation, impairing fat oxidation; more of your daily fat intake is stored as fat.

I will go grab my notes. I have always loved to learn, and I fill notebooks with notes pretty fast. As a christmas gift for my sister, I have been going through all my old notebooks and finding things that I think may be useful to her, and making a composite book. I will look at my notes and see if I have the reference...

Dr. E.E. Blaak, International Journal of Obesity, 30: S24-S27, 2006
"Obesity promotes insulin resistance, dietary protein increases insulin release by up to 200%, which may improve blood sugar regulation and speed weight loss. Increasing protein may help promote weight regulation by promoting satiety, thermogenesis, and increasing fat use."
