yeah, you Brits do like you Bond movies.................
I've been a huge fan of the D Craig Bond movies. Can't wait for Skyfall.
Bond! Did somebody ask for me?
What? James Bond ?
Noooo I'm Basildon bond
Craig is the best Bond, bar none. I like how they ditched the stupid one liners and ridiculous things (Pierce Brosnan driving a tank and straightening his bow tie), and replaced him with a Bond that looks like he could actually break your neck. Bond is dark and gritty now and the new films are reminiscent of the Bourne movies (which is a good thing).
Apparantly the Daniel Craig movies are supposed to be closer to the books, where Bond was this cold loose cannon. The only other Bond like this was Timothy Dalton!
Cant wait for new Bond and Takken 2!
Flagg: I heard similar, in the books he is supposed to be this rugged thug they trained apparently.
I much prefer Daniel Craig, in Casino Royale they made a quip about him feeling uncomfortable in the suit because he was an orphan that came from a poor background. He looks like he can fight.
Pierce Brosnan looked like he belonged at a cocktail party.
Skyfall is going to be great.
So now comes the obvious question.....
Who is the best Bond?
There is only one answer Sean ConneryQuote:

Daniel Craig is my favourite Bond.
Can't wait for the new movie to come out.
Sky fall will be sick I can't wait. Daniel Craig is by far the best bond in my opinion
Daniel craig has been the best bond for some time but sean is the best of all time sorry its just fact.
But i am looking forward to skyfall
Thing is, each and every one of them were probably best for their time. Craig plays a much darker and ruthless Bond than Connery could have even got away with in the 60's. Moore played the cheesy 80's Bond better than the others could. And so on. Except Lazenby. He was just awful!
I think what they're doing is placing them as in who is closest to the book not who is the bestQuote:

Agreed with that at least he was just in one film thoQuote:

Yeah! Timothy Dalton only got two cracks of the whip, but his version of Bond was very much like Craigs. It was all about the vendetta, not schmoozing his way through a cocktail while talking talking to M like the others! Dalton's version of Bond is the closest to Craigs and the books! In Licence to Kill, Felix (Bonds CIA counter part) gets captured by some drug lord who tortures, rapes and kills Felix' wife! Bond is pissed, and even when his licence is revoked, he goes on a rampage to avenge his mate! The film was later criticised for being too gritty, the violence being too realistic, no one liners and being too serious, which ironically is what makes the Daniel Craig films so popular today!
And cmon, Licence to Kill is probably the best Bond theme ever!

EDIT: Loving the overall Bond love in this thread. A few years back I watched Man on Fire (best film ever) and it was the film that really got me into spy stuff, espionage, as MOF is about an ex CIA agent. I'm glad Bond is more realistic now, he is after all, the original secret agent!
I only saw CR two weeks ago and I cant believe what a superb film I missed out on, probably my fave Bond film ever. I love that scene with and Vesper in the carriage. And yeah, Brosnan just couldnt be taken seriously. Sean Bean probably would have been a better Bond.
I heard Taken 2 is just the same as Taken 1, which may or may not be a bad thing. Taken 2 is also a 12, which again, considering the first film was an 18, may or may not be a bad thing. I wish Directors wouldn't ***** out and make films so a wider audience can buy tickets. I'm also surprised that Liam Neeson is 6'4 and 60 years old.
Yep, the older films, while classics, just seem really "cheesey" compared to what Daniel Craig has brought to the series now. I prefer this more serious version. I mean Craig looks like he would actually smash your face if you gave him disrespect.
oh yeah, forgot to mention..The Living Daylights is one of my favorite Bond movies! Dalton is waaaaay more convincing than Peirce Brosnan could ever dream of being.
For the Brits, and anyone who can get BBCiPlayer in other countries, is anyone watching the new series, Hunted, with Melissa George? It's pretty good stuff so far.
Yeah I agree Flagg I've been watching this and I think there's gonna be a few twists in this story what's your thoughts on whose after killing her I think it's mi5 or military based as in sasQuote:

I actually didn't realise how hot Melissa George was, especially when she was undressing in front of the ex lol! That said, she's a damn good actress, I mean she pulls off the British, French and American accents with ease. I think it's too obvious to be her ex bf who set her up. But this group she works for, Byzantine or whatever they are called, I think her "boss" is a bit suspect. And that guy she tackled in the last episode looked ex military, maybe ex SAS. Im intrigued in this german psychopath who's obviously been sent to get her as well. It does have a bit of a "Bourne" feel to it, as I imagine she will probably break off from the group completely and go solo while she is "hunted". Im pretty shocked/impressed how violent this is, being tortured by having a bike chain whipped across your face!
But yeah, she is pouting virtually all the time. I get she is supposed to be this cynical character, but cmon!
pierce was fail, nuff said.
Just seen it. First showing on opening day. Not disappointed. Lots of action, great sets and some comedy. Couple of twist, couple of hot ladies and if you're a Bond fan you'll be happy. Definitely got my money's worth!
You been today?Quote:
