Yes. I prefer Asian women.
But ill make exceptions
No I hate everyone equally.
Ignorant people bother me I don't care what race.
I think populations in general are more comfortable with those that have similar physical appearances as they do. This is why those with blue eyes have a tendency to marry others with blue eyes.......
....it's part of human nature. But that doesn't make one a racist.
I'm not racist but some cultures are more difficult to get used to than others. Yesterday 3 kids of middle eastern decent came into the gym, within 15 min you could barely breath without gagging, the body odor was out of this world. You couldn't be in the same room as them, it was so bad you could taste it. I know it is a cultural thing to not wear deoderant or what ever, but at what point are cultural differences too much to coexist? I didn't say anything as to not offend them, but I mentioned it to the owner of the gym to see if he could find a solution.
Slip a stick of deodorant in there locker.
We use to have a mechanic from Ukrain maybe showered once a week and didn't use deodorant and it was pretty bad. We talked to him nicely (new to this country) and he changed his habits. Could years later at Christmas party his wife thanks us.
Being of Irish lineage I know the struggles of the persecuted.
Is it racist to not believe in multiculturalism?
I believe nations that are permissive of multiculturalism are in the minority
Some Muslim counties forbids use of a deodorant or anything else with a scent on there bodies.
I going to have to go to my library and dust off the Quran and see if it's in there for you austinite.
Not at all racist. My wife is a frigen Arab and most of my friends are foreigners.
I don't know about all that. In Afghanistan, the most relevant experience I can relate, it seems they do not use deodorant in the traditional sense. however, they do use perfume, a form of deodorant.
I don't think it's just that either. I think another aspect could be dietary. Some foods, like curry, gets into your system much the same as garlic, and creates an odor that emanates from your pores, your breath, and your entire body.
And then finally, different levels of personal hygiene exist culturally. When I lived in Germany back in the early 80's, it wasn't uncommon for a complete bath to occur once, maybe twice a week. The same is true in the middle east. It's a pain in the ass to make enough hot water to take a bath, so it's more a luxury than something they do daily. But with the rise of the middle class, and modern plumbing, daily bathing is becoming more common place.
No. That is not true. In fact, Muslims and the Koran favor use of products for the betterment of ones scent.
Not that I care about this topic, but this is why so much ignorance goes around. People making things up. Like the assumption that all priests are pedophiles for example. Or whatever. We make random things up to justify our train of thought at the moment.
Educated people are becoming more and more rare. The easiest way to avoid looking silly, it to avoid making things up and/or remain quiet when we're not educated on a topic.
This isn't directed at you, derek. Just speaking in general. I can guarantee you this, though... most people don't even really know what countries comprise nationalities. Geographically challenged, if you will.
Was thinking that Austinite was an English teacher. Now I think he teaches more than one subject.
This is a topic in which each and everything can be turned and flip flopped around so im gonna stay out of it
I don't think I'm racist, but I could be wrong
Do you think profiling is justified?
I don't think I'm racist, but I do have a hatred for Australians.
And I don't think I'm alone here.
Yes..
I honestly don't really consider myself racist but I am definitely jaded and judgmental. I think we all harbor some racist thoughts but that doesn't equal hate. I might not like the common behaviors or certain class, religions, races or sexes but that doesn't mean I hate any of them as individuals. I save that for case by case consideration.
very true TR. I am from middle east and back there we only took baths once a week, yea we all stunk, so nothing stood out! boy I am so glad I adopted to the American culture, and simple love being an American.
to the topic, I am not a racist but I am prejudiced.
Yes, I am.
That being said, statistics, generalities, and any prejudice one holds are meaningless to the individual, and I will judge you as an individual. I have a special hate for white trash.
White trash, black trash, brown trash, yellow trash, green trash, or purple trash. Trash is trash in my opinion, regardless of race or nationality. So I suppose I'm not racist, but I harbor a special hate for any unproductive member of society.Quote:

This can trick our brains too. Sometimes, we see patterns that really do not exist. It's our brains attempts at filling in the blanks.
Either way, biology is imperfect, but it does keep us alive for a time.......
This is SOO interesting. What your talking about is our brains natural "short cuts." The body always wants to make everything easier even the way we think. This is where stereotypes come from and it's a highly researched subject. Car dealers tAke advantage of it as well as anyone else selling a product. An example would be if your looking for something you don't know a lot about. Let's say a fishing pole but you have never been fishing. Two poles are sitting near each other and one is significantly more expensive. Your going to naturally assume the more expensive one is better and many will pick it up for this reason. The store dosent tell you it's simply painted differently. This is a legit tactic in many retailers. To answer the original question....honestly it's terrible as I am a Christian but yes I am prejudiced. I wouldn't say racist though. Life experience has made me jaded I think.Quote:
