    I need understanding why

    Good morning guys
1.Here is the problem , When I wake up in the morning I am so tired. I like to go to gym early in the morning but I cant wake up but I cant go. Here is the list of medication I am on.
Lasix 40mg (i think this water pill is causing depriving me by making me pee everything out)
    prinivil, zestril 30 mg
    norvasc 10 mg
All the above medications are blood pressure. That I am having because I gained 40 pounds. I am awake for more then an hour and I am still tired Love to lay down and go to sleep.

    2. Can someone please explain to me how Alcohol can contribute in raising your blood sugar and also you gain weight.

Thank you for all your help guys.

I had the exact same problem a few years ago and after getting blood work done found I had thyroid problems.
I was to the point I would sleep 12 hours and still couldn't wake up in the morning. I also put on 25 pounds while dieting and working out.
They put me on levothyroxine and after 2 months I hadn't had that much energy in years, I dropped 30 pounds in the next 3 months with out changing anything.

Cal, have you had your Vit d level checked? Have you been tested for diabetes? Thyroid tested?

Sounds like it is time for a lifestyle change. How long have you been on BP meds? Are you currently doing any cardio (have you stopped running after fatties?)? What does your typical work day look like? Does it require sitting for hours? If so, get a stand up desk and start standing up to work at times.

Do you understand why you are on heart meds and diuretics?

    Vit D-25 OH 20 ng/mL normal 25 - 80 ng/mL
Glucose 161 mg/dL normal 60 - 99 mg/dL(i think it was high because too much drinking)
    Free FT4 1.2 ng/dL normal 0.8 - 1.8 ng/dL
This bitch of the doctor put me on BP meds last year in July. I was having blood thickness problem that was directly related to test so I have to cut the dose down.
I am doing cardio when I can because by the time I get home after picking up kids after school I have no energy. I am not sure why I am on heart medication they supposed to cure my BP which went upto 187/110. I work 8 hours a day sitting in front of computer but I have always done it. Atleast this week I managed to put 1 hr of cardio for 4 days.

Vitamin D is low, are you taking any Vit D 3? It has been known to affect energy levels.

When your blood was thick, why didn't you just go donate blood?

Also, did the doctor test your thyroid function?

I recommend looking into one of those standing desks, your back will thank you later as well as your hamstrings.

And what does your typical day eating look like? I'm thinking you need to start here and get this in check.

Yes I am D3 50,000 IU once a week it was lot lower but it started to come up. I honestly dont eat junk try my best to eat every 3 hours (i like to be more strict) on it
I couldnt donate because it was too thick that blood bank refuse to take it Iron level were 21 and they only take upto 19 so I had to go for phlebotomy. The doctor was so idiot told me to stop the test I basically told him he doesnt know what he is talking about.
I did gave you the FT4 results i think thats for my thyroids.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm have you looked into self bleeding?

Hopefully some of the hormone gurus will chime in

I'm thinking you can probably do better on your diet/eating habits. I bet if some of that 40 pounds comes off of you, so will the meds.

Try posting your blood work up in the TRT/HRT forum, hopefully Kel, Simon, or Mr BB can take a better look at it as they are more knowledgeable

Are you taking prinivil and zestril. Pretty sure they are both lisinopril, Cal. Try to get your glucose down.
Have they checked your electrolytes? Perhaps the Lasix is depleting you.

Agree. Try drinking Gatorade or pedialite first thing in the morning. Helped me a lot.

    Couple things....

Give blood. Thick blood = sluggish.
Get a full iron panel. Low ferritin can give the symptoms you describe.
Reduce you T dose a little.
Find a way to motivate yourself into action.

Ever had a sleep study done?

I did at 19 (31 now) and found out I had extreme sleep apnea... I was waking up 33 times an hour unconsciously. Had surgery to fix it and it made a world of a difference.

Where I donate it depends on your hemoglobin value, Cal. If my hemoglobin is over 18, they have problems programming the machine for a double red donation, so I have to do a whole blood instead.
If you're eligible, do a double red. If not, go with a whole blood. I usually feel a tad more energetic after a donation (my hematocrit and hemoglobin have always run high, even when I was young).
