I have had firearms my entire life. Part of a rural upbringing is hunting, and not just for sport. We sometimes relied on the game we took. I was always taught to respect firearms and what they can do. So you would think I'm a stanch gun nut, and I have a couple A-15's but I'm not. I don't believe everyone has either the ability or the maturity to own a firearm safely. I honestly believe a person should go through rigorous training or classes before they can own a firearm.

I get the whole point of the second amendment is to keep the government from becoming an enemy of the people, but it's becoming apparent that in some fashion, a person that expresses homocidal tendencies towards others. that some mechanism should be in place to prevent easy access to weapons.

Who knows maybe not, didn't seem to work in France or Canada where they have heavy fun restrictions.
