One of the tech geeks I work with put in one at this home with PTZ cameras. He can pull up the views and control the cameras from.work using an app on his cell. He put in a larger type setup at the church where they go to Mass.
I can ask him.some general questions about the brand, etc. if.you want? I know he backs up the footage although I'm not sure of the time span he keeps a record of.There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Dang. Sorry to hear that, Kel.
I use Hikvision cameras, some static and 2 are PTZ (can move around) with audio. Great low light vision and tied to the internet so you can view from your phone or computer. Also use their DVR which is an 8 channel and 4 terabytes. Records only on motion so it doesn't waste space, saves about 3 weeks worth of footage. It can send you alerts if there is motion also during specified times and on specific cameras. I have all my indoor cameras set to send me alerts while I'm away.
It's amazing how many people walk up to my front door while I'm away. I kid you not, some days I get 8 or 9 people knocking on the door. Insane. Almost all of them wave at the camera once they notice it and leave.~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

Costco sells Samsung SmartCam. They run specials every couple months for $99 per camera. They plug in anywhere, no monthly fees, record with SD cards and work off your WiFi. They recently offer a cloud based service you can pay to store your footage on. I have 4 cameras hooked up between my two properties and can view them all from my phone. You can set them individually for visual and/or audio alerts. Good luck...

Been watching some top ten lists for wireless systems and the Netgear Arlo System seems well received. Several video's seem to like it so far. Here's one narrated by some damn English guy who looks like Phil Collins but sounds like a Monty Python character...rather long but entertaining.....the video that is......well me too actually. Nuff said.

Looking for wireless infrared with some range for rear of properly especially!!!
I’ve never had anything stolen from front porch or break-in and neighbors watch out for each other but I’m curious what happens for the better part of the day....

I had something I put on my garage doors that will make them close or notify me if it is open. I also put a Schlage auto-locking door lock on the door going into my house from the garage. I did put up a few fake cameras I got from HF and a sign that says your are being videod. I like the ring door bell as well I installed as well. I am about to put a locking mail box in due to last year the mail banadits tried to get our mail and file our taxes.
A lot of neighbors in my neighborhood have great systems and we are very watchful of other people. Wife is on the HOA website FB group so we get a lot of alerts. Sorry to hear that about your son's bike. I hope it had a serial number on it and you filed a police report. You might get lucky if you did and they get busted at a pawn shop.

I’m probably going with Arlo. Wireless and I think there is an outside IR setups available. I still got more research to do. But it’s the most cost effective I’ve seen thus far.

Completely understand! My eyeballs rolled into the back of my head after 20 minutes online.....seems the technology is advancing but app support lacking. I need easy. This is not my expertise.
Considered spending $ on the doorbell option and waiting in $$$$ purchase once app support improved.

I have 2 IR IP cameras in my house, one outside to watch my motorcycles and car, and from that angle i also see my ports, who come in or out. Have also 1 inside the house directed to the entrance door.
My cameras are from VSTARCAM, very easy to use.
-They take recording when its motion.
-They alert me when its motion.
-I can zoom in and out and also rotate the camera in what angel i want
I use my phone to controll them, by this very easy app Eye4.

Haven’t mounted permanently. I think one should be outside. Neighborhood is safe but someone has entered unlocked vehicles to steal iPods, sunglasses, money, and garage door remotes. Scary right! This is new issue in past 6 months with 2 occurrences. Who leaves vehicle unlocked EVER
I just want to know if someone has entered while I’m not home so I don’t walk into an ambush and if anyone is sneaking around while I’m at work.
My neighbors watch out for one another. I left my garage door open for 15 hours...neighbor was walking the dog at night and called me...hey your garage door been open...are u ok? My heart was racing when I got home and was sneaking around looking in the windows before entering - probably should have called the police. I was frightened.
