I listen to the news (I was doing Cardio at 5 am ) They were offering bullet proof jackets to teachers and then they change their minds....What about the kids that goes there to STUDY....fvck it is getting crazy

These big shootings all occur at gun free zones.

This protects the kids that want to study and be safe.

I understand and I am a firm believer that "Guns dont kill people , people kill people" but just by taxes shooting it proven that system is flawed (no news there) and if it would have the guy who did the shooting shouldnt be allowed the gun and then Legal citizens dont have to taken him down. I am just not liking where its going.

If there were two school systems in a town I lived in, one allowed the school staff to arm themselves, and the other didn't, I would rather send my kids to the one that did. Which one do you think a shooter would prefer to go to?

OK so explain to me this.....Who can carry a gun inside the school?I was under the assumption that anyone can? Or AM I reading it wrong?

I would think there should strict requirements in place for choosing the ones that would carry. Extensive training

Staff or private security, the bill requires that a person have a license to do so. So the art teacher if he wants to carry, has to undergo training and background checks and so on.

You may be surprised how many teachers are packing. My wife was one of them until our second child was born, and she decided to stay at home because my mom couldn't watch her like she did our older daughter.

Now my question again. Whats stopping a teacher to go postal? and start shooting? We already established system is flawed.....I am concerned about kids. What would stop a teacher that wants to go postal anyway? Not other teachers, they are not allowed to carry. If a teacher is crazy and wants to shoot up a school, she/he would bring a gun regardless of the rules. Gun restrictions only stop law abiding citizens from carrying, period.

again, you have to be licensed.

you must be 21 to apply for a conceal carry permit.

No students in high school can carry.

What’s stopping kids from packing?

I volunteered with STEM outreach. I ❤️❤️❤️ experience which opened my eyes to those in less affluent districts. I picked an inner city location over suburban school bc felt could make deeper impact. I had no clue what some kids are dealing with...no father, hungry, no rules...

Two boys stole my phone and keys. Down to the principals office....apparently familiar with the drill....sheepishly pulling pockets inside out. The look on their face was precious. Little smirks, devilish grins.

They were 4th graders!!!

I was allowed to walk in the school, no screening/metal detector. No one stopped me in the halls. That’s scary!!!!!!!

I would never want to be a school teacher. What’s gonna happen to those 2 little boys when they are teens. Do I think they could be capable of more serious crimes...already committing petty Misdemeanors!

Kinda, These teachers aren’t open carrying. It is Concealed so nobody knows whether or not a particular teacher is armed. The students aren’t really the problem anyway. We are talking about a mentally ill person coming into a unarmed school and shooting kids like fish in a barrel. No mad man looking to exact maximum damage is going to go and shoot up a place with heavily armed individuals in it. He is going to look for easy, target rich environments with the least likely amount of resistance possible. That’s how predators operate.

I mean we can live by exceptionally rare circumstances and be paralyzed by extremely rare events or we can craft good policy off real world data to protect everyone.

I’ve found that a lot of people that are in the in debate haven’t the first clue about guns. They don’t know or care to know they mountains of data that support an armed citizenry. They don’t know or care to know what each type of weapon is and is capable of. They don’t know or care that their are many many people qualified to care firearms and it is a part of their lifestyle.

They only go off of emotion and hearsay and craft laws and policy that actually gets more people hurt or killed.

Me too, that’s why I’m sending to private or home school. To many whackos out there. Hell even super educated ones like the guy that attacked senator Rand Paul last week. Guy is an MD and snuck up on Paul and broke 6 of his ribs and punctured a lung.

In my head it is double edge sword cause you have them in protected environment and then you send it out in the world which they are not used to. I am not sure about private schools here in MI. But my kids go to one of the award winning school system.

Went to concert recently. There’s metal detectors, Bomb squad parked outside, police everywhere in and out. Screening of my purse, police with guns, vests, bully clubs, pepper spray , handcuffs (those I may like lol, esp if he’s cute and muscular hmmmmm)

My purse did not go thru the metal detector. I’m like WHY NOT!!!! They start getting busy, handgun slips thru?!?????? What!!!!

They have all kinds of homeschool associations where they kids meet and socialize with other kids daily. They have whole sports leagues and academic completions all over the place.

I just can’t stand the thought of some lowlife SJW teacher telling my little boy that he is going to grow up and be a rapist unless he acts like a little girl. Or telling my little girl all white men are myogencistic rapist and she can never be anything because patriarchy.

What is stopping anyone from going postal and shooting up a school? A window?

Peventative legislation only prevents the law abiding from their freedoms.

There a millions of Vets that could be retrained and armed to protect volunerable assests like schools, concert, churches and parades. They are already trained, already armed and already proven. They could get a special DOD licensure if the public wanted. There are more than enough vets willing and able to cover ever single soft target out there. Most would probably do it for free.

Yep, and they can use the funds that are going to wasteful spending projects that government officials is using to funnel money to their friends
