    22 Vets

    I need to vent a little.

    22 veterans commit sucide a day. We have veterans who are homeless. We have veterans not getting health care like they have been promised. With all this happening how is it more important to aid an illegal immigrant ? Why in the hell should they be given food stamps, free education, free health care ( free to them not the tax payer) and laws that give them higher standing than an American citizen. Why is it not important to take care of our citizens first and others after. I don’t understand this at all. If I go to their country of origin I will not get the same benefits. I understand Democrats only see them as votes and that’s all. But WTF. You have to take care of your own first. A plane losing pressure you put the O2 mask on yourself first then the person next to you.

    Sorry rant over.

    Cape- do not get me started! I have seen many things that most people do not know about. I try to stay out of politics, but this is a sore point with me.

    I didn’t have the honor or privilege of serving. One of my biggest regrets in life. I have the utmost respect for those who did. We do what we call Honor Air where we fly Vets to DC for the day and go around the memorials with them. It’s a great trip. We send packages to those deployed over Christmas. We plan and hold the biggest Memorial Day Evet in the south east. I put together the only 9/11 ceremony that happened this year in the state. The hurricane scarred everyone else but not us. I got a General who was in the Pentagon when the plane hit to speak that day. There’s a group associated with the Shepard Spinal Clinic that helps with pdst, injuries and the 22 suicides a day by Vets. They run from DC to ATLANTA 2200 Miles in 22 lb rucks to raise money and awareness. I buy my shirts from 9 lines and Ar15 clothing. All vet owned and operated. I try to help with anything vet related and it pisses me of to see how they are treated by others. Especially those on the left in government.

    In Sweden the costs of immigration have gone so high that it recently pushed the retirement age a couple years forward... 67 to 75. A nice thank you to those who built what we have. I don't even understand why this is a political discussion, for me it is a logical one. Completely illogical for a government to tax it's people and spend it on others who haven't contributed. Charities are charities and you don't tax people for charities. Also bonus points for lack of logic for giving these benefits to a specific group of people as if their suffering is more special than others.

    Socialism=Degenerative.

    Democrats=socialism.

    Democrats=degenerates.

    Obs dictionary:
    Degenerate_ dee-jin-er-ats
    An individual that is a Non-hacker/pussy.
    A person that is not capable of understanding freedom or self sustain, whereby dragging down his fellow man via governmentally administrated socialist institutions.

    Example in a sentence: Enough degenerates will be the downfall of the most powerful nation in history.

    There weren't enough non-hackers here to support democrat agenda so we are importing them.

    When they had raised the number from 21 to 22 I was disappointed in this. I have known 2 vets I deployed with who took their lives and I always wondered why they didn't use the current resources to get help or at least talk to somebody. They were both high ranking too. One was a Sergeant First Class and the other was a Captain. I did not blame them for what they did but hoped they would have reached out before things got too bad. But then on November 5th our son tried to take his own life. He has been back for almost 2 years now and every single warning sign was there and my wife and I missed them all. Luckily mom's intuition kicked in because he was not returning texts and she went to his place to check on him and found him near death from prescription overdose and was able to get the police and paramedics there on time. He's been out of the hospital for almost six weeks now and it has been a struggle to get him to his aftercare appointments and he lost his job on Sunday from not going to work. We are working with him now to help him out financially til he finds work again but we made him sign a contract with us he had to go to counseling once a week or we would cut him off. The part that really sucks about all this is nobody in the military gave a shit about him or how we were dealing with it. His unit chain of command never even checked on him after they found out. I have 8 years to go until I am retired from the Army and thought I would stay in until I was 60, but this whole experience has jaded us to where once I get my letter I am out. I am really disgusted with the way the military and the VA has handled all of these suicides but never really let it get to me until it hit home for us.
    Sorry to hijack your thread Cape, just wanted to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening if you read the whole post guys.

    You didn’t hijack anything. That’s exactly what this thread is about. Read an article on Sofrep how the command has cut the requirements for Green Berets selection. So they are having classes that either get more chances or the requirement has been lowered to have larger class graduations. Some one in command wrote a scathing letter how they arent properly trained and aren’t ready for combat but they just keep pushing them through. The reason I mention this is it goes to what you were saying about the higher ranks not caring about their men. They are in the wrong line of business imo. What is happening in this country?

    My prayers are with your son and family. Its such a shame, they need to have someone check in on these boys periodically, I was reading somewhere that we spend 22 billion dollars on UFO research......wtf? Yes we should be doing that but 22 billion?? Then I hear of these vets that come back and they are forgotten about, our Gov is totally fucked up, it enrages me. Please pm your sons name if you dont mind so I can pray for him directly

    The US spends over a billion a year on refugees. I just read where the dod has spent 100 million on suicide prevention, that's total, not just one year

    The Senators or who ever has last say should have to go to every funeral of a vet that commits suicide that didn't have help available.

    Just a quick update. My son is finally getting the help he needs. Talked to my First Sergeant bout what was going on and found out my commander never even filled him in. Let him know my boy was getting the runaround and he said he would look into it. I get a text 20 minutes later asking for his full name and 30 minutes after that my son gets a call from the the crisis people and get him enrolled and get him in for his first appointment. To help him out financially my unit is going to put him on orders for 2 weeks and make his place of duty his therapy sessions. Sucks it took this long to get him help from the military and it is all because a high ranking NCO listened and rattled some cages. Thanks to everyone who listened and thanks to BG for the prayers. We really appreciate it.

    Second that, however he has made an ass out of himself on many occasions. Additionally, this is a democratic and republican problem, everyone is affected by this no matter how out of sight it is. Sick and tired of this partisan bullshit. WE ALL LIVE IN AND LOVE THE SAME FUCKING COUNTRY. We have got to start working together.

    If Trump doesn’t do one thing good for us while he is in office. He changed the presidency position for the better. FUCK career politicians. Ok rant over.

    I do as well. I happen to really like what Trump is doing. Dems and the media don't give a fuck about the truth or our people in uniform, past or present.

    Neither does Trump

    Look how he spoke to a dead soldiers family
    "He knew what he was getting into"

    And just sends more young men to foreign countries to occupy and eventually get into conflict

    I believe a lot of trump supporter people at this point are just cringing because they know the "told ya so" shit is true.

    It's ok guys, we all know
    It's cool, you can admit it, then we'll stop throwing it in your faces.

    Here you go fuck face Now move on.

    Back to the thread,

    Being from a Red State, most of my friends and family have all served at one or another. My community does a lot for Vets, and the Vets do a lot for us. These are people of all different Races and creeds, but they all believe in self determination and liberty. So that makes them all American. So tired of all the racial division that the media says there is out there. If an immigrant no matter his/her status joined and honorably served in the military. They should be granted full citizen ship because they have already done more than 95% of the citizens out there.

    1. Ironically vets played a role in displacing people directly and indirectly.

    2. Why do people expect this world to be fair? Trillions of dollars are spent on war instead of solving problems at home and abroad. No single taxpayer (or for that matter tax dodger) will ever be satisfied with the way govt prioritizes its spending. Never. Get over it.

    3. Notice how all the western countries continue to get richer despite all the immigrants/refugees? People conveniently overlook that fact.

    Flame suit on.

    This thread turned political, which i regret. However the two schmucks that posted dumbass comments haven’t been back and like most liberals or anti trump idiots. They have nothing to back it up other than false info and the words of their remedial friends.

    I voted for trump, and although he hasn’t been great. How can anyone of preferred career politician/scam artist/criminal/scum bag/hardly operating geriatric old lady over trump. He has changed the idea of president forever and people are more aware of the presidency and politics than ever. You gonna vote for Oprah next??? IMO that should be an immediate ban from here.

    The economy is up and yes he has been good for business not denying that. However, to be fair it was on its way up when Obama was going out.

    It ain’t rocket science either. Lower business taxes and reduce non-catastrophic regulatory red tape and business can earn, keep and spend money on employee benefits and reinvestment. Who would have thunk it lol

    Lol, no it wasn’t, do not buy into that nonsense. Every one of Obama’s economic policies hurt businesses. Especially medical (which I ran a large clinic as my past job) and manufacturing. ObamaCare alone nearly stopped all growth in the business sectors. It’s no fluke that the stock market jumped on the day after the election. Trump ran on killing ObamaCare, cutting ridiculously high corporate taxes and reducing unneeded regulations. If I told how exceedingly difficult it was to keep up with all the changes in regulations just to keep out clinic open. You would throw up. It wasn’t said outright, but at every medical business and hospital directors conferences I attended. The talk was getting a more business friendly and regulatory environment. The nation lost nearly 33% of its private medical clinics and 80 or so rural hospitals last time I heard.

    Also don’t believe the BS that our system was broke before ObamaCare. There were obviously things that needed fixed. But we did not need a transformative action to change a few things. Everyone had coverage, if you had a medical emergency you could go to the hospital and receive care. Putting 48m people on Medicaid is not a health insurance victory. Private clinics can and will deny Medicaid patients. We had a ration system. We would take in 22% of our caseloads each month as medicaid. If we didn’t, we would not be able to pay for things like our lights and equipment and staff salaries. Medicaid pays at a rock bottom reimbursement compared to private insurance or self pay. Technically you could try to collect the difference (in some states) but what’s the point? People on Medicaid do not pay for their insurance and they do not feel they need to pay their portion, even if it’s a dollar. Anyway I could go on and on. Thankfully I earned enough money to get out of managed care and do something else.

    You are correct ms. It amazes me how people can't understand the simplicity of why liberal politics don't work. If half the country gets free health care, the cost of heath care is going to double, its that fucking simple. if half country doesn't work, and gets a free ride off the tax payers, the cost of living is going to double, it's that fucking simple. If you shut down all our factories because idiots think that sending all the manufacturing to china is going to cure global warming, than unemployment is going to double, it's that fucking simple.

    I hear your brother. You're preaching to the choir. We do what we can to help out in our own little way, right?

    When good people don't step in those politicians have a free run. Same thing happened in Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Communist Russia, suppress the few that are vocal and the population goes silent. Time for passive silence is over. I'm not out to start a revolution. But when I hear people talking nonsense about our vets I say something. Just a little goes a long way.
