Ive spent many many years doing things what many normal people would think are insane and as I grow older ( not as old as Kel by the way) I ask myself these questions often. With age my mind set has changed and my goals are different but please tell me at your stage "Why"?
I lift to maintain a balance and challenge myself. Doubt I will ever be satisfied with myself; I hate me. 
Used to be all about size when I was younger, but now it is more of a combo of strength, size, and conditioning. Not so much for looks, but more for function.
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...
