The road to my first NPC competition

I am 4 1/2 weeks out from my first NPC competition. I am looking for any advice, critique, or comments to assist me in being my best. I will be posting pics as we go.
I just finished a dry run prep and had water retention issues, but I figured out the cause (frag 176-191 and Melanotan).
Here is my cycle up to week 3 from the comp. test prop 400 mg, mast 600 mg
    Tren a 450 mg, slin, 100 T3.
Week 3-week 2 cut test, up mast to 700, up tren to 700 mg, add Winnie oral 100 continue T3. Cut out all post and pre workout:
Week 1- continue and cut out everything 3 days out?

    Any thoughts?

On the AAS, I normally run less gear @ 300mg/wk Tren 400mg/wk Mast. I just can't handle the Tren sides. Just wimp I guess.

I concentrate more on my carbs. I lower my carbs starting 5 days out 2 days before the show I eat no carbs. Then 1 day before the show I carb load. When I wake up on the day of the show, I am huge. The timing of the carb loading is tricky. It takes my friend 2 days for his carb load to take place. You need to test to see how your body reacts to the carb loading.

The other is water loading. 7 & 6 days out I drink 2 gallons of water and take a diuretic 3 x day. 5 & 4 & 3 days out I drink 3 gallons of water and take the diuretic 3 x day. 2 days out I drink as much water as I can until noon and then at noon to when I go to bed I only drink 20 oz water. I'm still taking diuretic 3 x day. 1 day before the show, the entire day I drink 20 oz water while taking the diuretic. On the day of the show I don't take any diuretic and sip water as needed. 30 minutes before I get on the stage I eat a sugary doughnut and drink some Gatorade with extra salt added.

    Go kick some muscle butt.

Hey thanks! I think that I have the carbs dialed in. I have had water retention problems but do to my stupidity. Last year I took GH 2 weeks out and then started gaining water weight 4 days out (8 lbs worth). My last time it was frag and Melanotan that retained the water (first time taking).
I follow the water protocol without the diuretic. I think that I will try the diuretic like you mention. What diuretic do you use?

I’m going to do one soon. Falling flat in the comp has me motivated to finish my journey and get show ready!

As mentioned above the carb up in my opinion is the biggest thing. Scotch said he does the day before. I tried that the first time and was flat. The day after the show I was full. Since then it was 2 days before for me.

Water is easier. Overload then cut then drop with the help of a dieuretic. A half cup of coffee the morning of would help me shed some extra water.

First show is a learning experience. Keep a log with times and amounts. The second show you will be glad you kept it in detail. And you should get pin pointed in. Keep another log. Next show even sharper.

Try to find a second show 1-2 weeks after the first. It will make the diet easier than a month or two out.

When you train pose in between set the muscle group you are training.
Practice posing in addition to that 30 min - 1 hr a day.

If you have no rhythm like me don’t worry about it to much doing your routine.
You are judged on the mandatory poses. Nail them. Be able to hold them during the comparisons and not start shaking. Smile. Make it look easy.

I would always back fill slin pins 2 weeks out so as not to get knots showing anywhere.

    Sorry now I’m just rambling.

You did not fall flat! You made good improvements. We all know that we could have done better. Once again, if I had your knowledge, I could be so much better.
You and your knowledge will make you killer in a show! Just let me know so I do not enter.

You were far from falling flat on the comp, I know people in the gym that would kill to accomplish in a year what you did in 3 months.

I have come to the conclusion that my posing needs a lot of work. I am going to spend more time on poSing.
For my music routine I am using “Hail to the king” by avenged Sevenfold. I am keeping it basic and using the circle method where I keep rotating to the right.
Poses are: most muscular hands down in front, single bicep, double bicep, front lat, (rotate right single bicep leaning to the right, with back to the Audience), side chest, side tricep, rotate rear lat, single bicep, double bicep, raise and lower doble bicep, shooting arrow , rotate side chest hands at hips, side tricep (hands free and one in front), rotate 1 arm behind head ab, 2 hands behind the head (switch legs), wrist bent arms extended up (Fran Zane pose), most muscular hands down, most muscular crab.

Not sure if anyone can visualize these. I will be posting one pic for help with the pose.

Remember the contest is won in pre-judging so put a ton of effort into the mandatory poses first and foremost. You can almost fall down during your actual routine and it wouldn't make much difference, other than pride. Remember during your routine to only do poses that show your strengths, avoid any that show weaknesses. If a pose leans you out don't do it. Nothing says you have to do any certain pose during your routine. Do what makes you look good or just don't do it.

Also, find some bodybuilders on youtube that you like their posing style and immitate it.

Well, I have decided to start the frag. This means that i will do away with preworkout and work out in a fasted state in the morning workout. My morning workout is the larger muscle groups. My afternoon workout is at least 20 minutes of HIIT, small muscle workouts, posing, and sauna.
Any rcommendations for rep set schemes? I am doing 10 reps, hold 10 seconds, 10 reps, 10 second hold, 10 reps, 10 second hold

Thanks Cape! I have been going to tanning beds. I am looking reallly tanned right now. A couple days before the comp, I was going to go to ITan and have them spray me. It supposedly lasts for weeks and does not really wash off. According to them, they do spray people for competition, but I want to be very dark. I am sure that they have people spraying at the comp and I have my trusty jana tana as an emergency

I am going to start posting poses, but one at a time so that I can focus on the comments on a single pose. I have the most confidence that I have ever had and with the experience level of people on here assisting, you will see a 51 yo at his best.

On the water side, i looked at what Scotch mentioned however I do not understamd the use od the diueretic so far out.
I understand the loading of water. You get your body to want to get rid of it by consuming so much and then you just cut it off and it still is trying to get rid of it because it doesnt realize that you cut it off yet. Using the diuretic while you are trying to get your body to think that it needs to get rid of water sounds contradictory. Someone please tell me where my thought process is flawed.
    Is there any preferred diruetic?

Well Obs first asked me if I was a model so I figured that I would post a pic. At least it’s in front of a Hemi so no girlish jokes. LOL
I started with the relaxed pose. I have difficulty getting my shoulders at the same height. Also on the side relaxed I think that I should rotate a little more.
The last one is the ab pose that I am thinking on going with. I have loose skin that detracts from the abs that I am hiding.
The head games are starting. At 51 I wonder why I put myself through this. Then I look in the mirror and see what I need to focus on. Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde.
NOTE: don’t pay too much attention to the legs. I killed them at the gym and posing they were shaking.
