When is the best time to start to a cycle, after bulking, cutting or maintaining?

    Hey guys,
I know this seems like a very simple question but I cant find an answer for it anywhere. When is the best time to start to a steroid cycle, after bulking, cutting or maintaining? I think I read somewhere that going into a cycle while your lean is more likely to promote lean gains and is there for advisable, but my logic tells me that after cutting you should bulk up at least some what if not as much as you can, naturaly & then cycle. Can anybody give me a definitive answer if infact one does exist. Much appreciated, thanks.

Not too sure on the science behind it but i bulk natty as much as i can b4 starting a cycle. That way I can get used to a bulking diet b4 so I can eat more on cycle. More food = more growth.

    Wow, quick replys!

Schmidty Iv done 1 cycle (Test E 500mg pw Deca 400mg pw)it finished around 5 months ago and my stats : are age 21 (almost 22) height 173 cm, weight 81 kg, bf less than 14. Been training 3 years properly (though on and off for 6) and eating well for 2.

I planed my first cycle for years and started perfetly with 110% effort in all areas, but 2 weeks in 2 it I got into sum legal trouble and lost all my gear and pct, so had to stop cold turkey. A month and a half later I got a repeat of my original gear (but no pct) and completed a 12 week cycle. Was not in a good mind set this time and though I trained well I did not eat or sleep well. Im really dissapointed with my lack luster affort after years of build up so plan on cycling again soon the way I should of done it the 1st time. want to gain as much muscle as possible, I will cut down in due time afterwards. Will either b test and deca again or mabye tren added as well in a test 500mg pw, deca 200mg pw, tren 400mg pw sorta split. Hope to use AI's & SERM's afterwards, prehaps clen if possible too.

legobricks I tend 2 side with your way of thinking. Thats what I did las time and will probably do again unless informed otherwise.

llrockyll could you plese elaborate on why that is. After cutting could you not gain fairly easily naturally. Wouldnt cycling after a little natural gain result in a greater amount of muscle gained over all, where as if you cut then cycle would it not be hard/impossible to then gain naturall after that? Would be interesting to here this explained, seems there may be a difference in opinion amoungst the users of this site.

There is not set answer because it depends on your natural metabolism. If you are a high metabolism person then naturally bulking going into a cycle like lego says makes sense. But if you have an average metabolism (most of us) then you want to go into your cycle as lean as possible. Putting on weight is not a problem for endo and ****morphs so being as lean as possible is the only way going into a cycle IMO. Being bloated and fat while on cycle is counter productive and causes more problems post cycle when trying to shed bf. So the lbm gains will most likley dissapear while trying to lose the excess bf.

Personally I have no problem bulking so I have to pay attention to my lbm and not worry about lbs on the scale. The mirror and the measuring tape is the most important indicator of the quality of your gains. I am currently bulking but my waist size is not increasing this time because my diet is tuned in and I am religious with my cardio. So I am at 228lbs, 5'10" and I feel good. I am not bloated or blocky looking. I have a 16" spread from my waist to my shoulders. Hehe, my shoulders are 16" wider than my waist funny guys.

That was a very usefull answer Seattle Junk, thanks alot. I would class my self as a ****morph and did end up looking pretty bloated after my last cycle. I put on 14 kg (30.8 pounds) in 12 weeks though some of that was water (see attached pic of me at a friends place looking bloated). Sounds like u have good stats dude.

As for what legobricks said about the bulking diet I guess you could start tapering up meals up for a few weeks after cutting without gaining to much fat if you eat lean. That way you would still be lean but have the appetite of a horse.

ChuckLee Iv been cutting for 2-3 months now. Im not sure if what you said was as a general statement or because you thought that picture of me was current. Its 4 or 5 months old, my body fat is less than 14% now. BTW if thats you in your avatar your back is f*#%ing huge man and thats a crazy tat! Id be if you could fit through doorways front on, lol.

Yes but like I said in the post before yours that picture is at least 5 months old while I was bulking. Iv got no idea what my bodyfat was then, any guesses anybody?

Iv attached a more recent pic. iv lost another 1% or so since the new pic which is around 2 weeks old. I think even in this pic im below 14%, fell free to correct me if im wrong. I only use a set of electronic scales but they are new and seem to work better than sets iv had in the past.
