gravol or immovane, the immovane is a little addictive but you wake up feeling great not groggy at all, you feel groggy with the gravol, im trying not to take them though as i heard taking them you dont hit delta mode in your sleep so your gains wont be as big, but ive talked to other people on here that take sleep aids and they still say they have good gains

I take good old benadryl, it works ok for me. Sometimes I need to go get meds from the doc though.

Marcus, this sounds silly, but do you have a routine established? Day-in and Day-out....or does your schedule with work or life not allow this?

Its not really about me, just wondered what people use. I am happy with my sleep aid but i use to have problems but that was from stress and issues within my life, but I do work very strange hours but it isnt a problem with melatonin. I was just asking in general but thanks for the concern

10-4 sounds good.. keep it to the science. A lot of times people will jump to meds before resorting to other things that might solve the issue. I know the body likes patterns and can be trained to do almost anything. especially sleep patterns... I know a lot about that from my time in the military.. anyhow, peace!

I meant to say to keep your thread to the science of meds... the part in sleep patterns is hardly a science, just training and setting your sleep patterns by routine.
I do know you can adjust and throw your patterns off and on... we would spend time running missions for 72 hrs straight with no sleep, then we would also, break into patterns of 2 hrs on and 2 hrs off on long range reconnaissance patrols... then get back state side and put yourself back on a normal sleep patterns.

I took a Diphenhydramine pill every night while on a prohormone cycle because of insomnia issues.
1) I gained 35 lbs on my bench, rather than 25 lbs the last "cycle" I ran, by using a sleeping pill to obtain 9-10 hours of sleep a night (compared to the 4-6 I was getting last cycle).
2) The sleeping aids made me more lethargic, obviously, but nothing a little cafine could not fix.
3) They are addicting in the sense that you will have insomnia issues coming off the pills for a couple of weeks while your body adjusts.
4) I used them every night.
I would not recommend doing what I did, becuase it is not healthy. I really had no other choice, though. I would rather sleep and gain than not sleep and not gain....
Melatonin is a great product but not nearly powerful enough to overcome my insomnia, so that was not an option for me.

speaking from experience here.
Are the meds you guys are taking to sleep because of anxiety? If yes then xanax is fine. I use it occasionally if I have a busy day at work and Im pre-planning for the next day. Or definately going on a trip. I hate planes!!
Anyways, you guys might laugh but a sml glass of warm milk does the trick for me. Maybe its a mind thing but it works.....jmo...

Melatonin huh?? Any sides with it?? Does it really work??
I have been on benzo's for 14 years.. yah long time i know.. but for sleep i am prescribed ambien and ativan...
For my Anxiety issue Valium and Xanax...
I'll be officially benzodiazipine free in 60 days.. made the choice 6 months ago to get off of them, but it takes that long for a medical professional to properly ween you off of them because of how dangerous they are.. go figure.. if I had known, never would have gotten on them, but it wasn't ME that did it.. see 14 years ago I was 13, and MY MOTHER made the decision to put me on them for my PTSD.. long story short.. I just never got rid of them because they were just part of my everyday life.. low and behold i was in the clutches of the MOST EVIL MEDICINE on the planet...
Anyways.. They are going away for good...
but... I might keep the AMBIEN for back up and have heard GREAT things about Melatonin.. just any known side effects with the stuff??

acupuncture. if you find a good acupuncturist you won't believe how much it helps insomnia. this is from a guy who stays awake through 2 ambiens.
