Ive been training for 4 years now, and for about 3 years ive consumed around 300g - 350g protein everyday.
Is this bad for you?
Also, if its so bad, what can i do to change this, as you need high amount of protein to build and maintain muscle!

I studied sport and nutrition at college and looked at "too much protein" and as the body can't store it you just pee it out lol so it won't harm you what your body needs it will take and what it doesn't it will get rid of.
I forgot your body weight- remind me...
Also, they say that "the gout" comes from protein overload, but i have never gotten it. The only thing i get if i go way to high with the protein is a feeling in my stomach like i have to sh*t more often. Never heard that 400g of protein would cause a problem. You can take 2g's per body lb with ease so don't worry
good luck,
"dirty d"
NO NO NO, I mean consuing too much protein over a long period of time...
Bad for liver and kidneys??
Yes pure and simple....I can send you some medical literature if you like. But you look fairly good size so you will be ok my man
Some ppl need high amounts to build and maintain others don't... But ur numbers are fine
excess protein can be stored as fat
^^^ Truth. Only so much protein can be utilized even in a positive nitrogen balance state that AAS foster.
Excess protein most definitely is stored as fat if you ingest too much.
As far as other negative impacts, the kidneys are overworked if large amounts of protein are ingested over the long-term...I have no idea what constitutes the long term, but years and years of doing it has to have an impact on them the same way that years and years of drinking alcohol will impact your liver.
undefined
so what shall i aim for? 1.5g or 2g per lb of bodyweight? Seeing as im trying to cut too..
The Body of the Medical Literature does not support that conclusion as far as any kidney or liver dysfunction. High Protein intake is associated with high intake of animal fats which is associated with heart disease and other conditions. Assuming we are talking about healthy adults here.

300-350 grams of protein is by far to much for almost anyone.

1.5g per lb should be fine as long as you keep carbs at like 100-130g. Fat below 50g. I wouldnt be worried about it tho man, 1.5g per lb wont be shutting down your kidneys. 2.5-3g per lb or something retarded will hurt you after a little while tho.
i doubt it will do any damage ..it would be just a waste also depends how much your spreading your meals i would recommend no more than 50 or 40 grams of protein per meal...also if your consuming that much protein i would take a liver support and drink alot of water
http://1stholistic.com/Nutrition/hol...in-turn-to-fat. answer to your question yes
i believe anything excess can be bad for you in the long term.
I agree that anything in excess is bad. I also think a lot of people use the per lb of body weight to much...IMO should be per pound of lean body mass. Also I grow very well from 1g/lb of LBM and dont think a lot more is needed.
But saying you just pee out what you dont need...Not at all true. You will still digest it...Still get the extra calories and if that is above what you need to build it will store as fat.
Extra calories get stored as fat, or extra protein???? proper confused now, need your advice fireguy1 ....
