Sad state of the elderly...steroids are the cure.

I was geting blood taken today and while I was siting in the waiting room I looked around and realized that 99% of the people around me were 70 plus years old and unforchantly were all in very rough shape! One lady was using a cain and she fell over, and the man siting next to me hardly had the strength to sit on his own....it made me sad because all of this could be avoided with a couple hundred mg of testerone and a couple mg of hgh.

It really is sad to see people in that state! you could see half of them had already given up on life just by looking at them and were just waiting for death instead of living life to the fullest.

I sure as hell dont wanna be like that when im 75!

    Thats my rant lol

I was thinking the same thing and I couldn't agree more... I know that I will eventualy be on test for life (like 250mg/wk), the only concern I have is if something happened (me going to jail, some disaster...) that would stop me from getting test it would suck, but you have to take some chances in life.

I think it would drammaticly help. I am aware it would not solve all the problems, but HRT would definetly help.

What are you talking about? Testosterone is the facilitation of muscle growth as well as bone development and maintenance so lower test levels along with lower hgh levels leads to weaker bone, joints, muscles ect ect. Also gh helps us to heal much faster and delays the aging process.

You take two 75 year old twins one on hrt and gh and the other natural you bet your ass the one on hrt and gh is going to live a much more quality life then the natural brother...in fact I would bet he would also live longer too.

During my graduate studies, I was privy to a lot of studies and data on AAS treatment for older adults since older adult health was my area of study. Everything from bone density to muscle wasting was looked at for older adults, which was defined in most studies as 55 years of age or older. Granted once joints start to change pathologically, nothing can be done. However there was dramatic improvements in bone density and fat free mass in the elderly along with quality of life in all age tiers from old, older to very old, if your familiar with how they classify aged individuals.

Most of the worry with these therapies was the risk of cancer. Which generally was associated with testosterone based steroids. Nandrolones, and none aromatizing compounds were almost exclusively ruled out of having these side effects. Non-virilizing compounds for women such as Nandrolones were associated with no increase in breast or ovarian cancer risk. Especially relative to estrogen and progesterone therapy or a combination of the two.

My conclusion in my own mind was that it was the stigma attached to AAS, and not legitimate health concerns that bared these drugs from being used more frequently. However if I was an MD, I am not sure I would prescribe them either. I would not want the long arm of the FDA and DEA breathing down my neck. I can cut on and stick narcotics in patients all I want but god forbid one of my elderly patients was a racket ball player.Because then he/she would be a PED's abuser.
