    Cholesterol Total/HDL = 10.7

I went for a health check today.

My LDL is a little high at 3.32.

My HDL was so low that they couldn't measure it, it's below the measuring threshold of 0.39.

They estimated my Total/HDL ratio as 10.7, but it might be even higher than that because we don't know just how low my HDL is.

How can I get my HDL up? I was thinking I'd drink a load of fish oil every morning. What do you reckon?

My LDL is probably a little high because I eat beef steak nearly every day, I might switch to fish instead. I thought my HDL would be higher since I take 3 grams of cod liver oil every morning.

Currently I'm on week 5 of 100mg Var + 50mcg T3 per day, so that might be the biggest factor in all of this (although I'm not sure how much your cholesterol can change in as little as one month). The first two weeks I also took 70mg Dbol per day.

Anyway what should I do? Stop eating beef steak, switch to fish instead, and also drink a load of fish oil every morning?

I'm reading here that cod liver oil, and fish oil in general, isn't great for raising HDL.

What if I just drink a load of olive oil straight from the bottle?

If I were to take 2 tablespoons of olive oil every morning, that would be 240 calories. Obviously I don't want to get fat, but I think an extra 240 calories per day to boost my HDL might be ok.

    Hello,

Stop all oral, with 70mg of dbol it's little bit normal ;-)

    How are your transaminases ?
Because if you have elevated you need to detox your liver.

Favor food like fish, olive / colza oil, oleaginous...
Oats help to reduce your bad lipids.

Start at standard dose like 30g lipids / day and give another blood work in 28-30 days, depend the results up your daily dose at 40g daily.

Some fish oil are like taking nothing.... Try to take Omega with EPAX label and save your bottle at 6-7° (the insulin place top right on the fridge)

    Take care

What can I take to increase my HDL? In terms of food and also drugs.

This evening I had salmon instead of beef steak for dinner.

Actually I might go buy a big jar of olives, it would be nicer than drinking that horrible oil.

I'm reading up here about a supplement/drug called Niacin.

Has anyone here used Niacin to correct their cholesterol?

Here's the changes I've made so far
    * Since yesterday, no more beef steak. I have salmon in the fridge and freezer (it's more expensive by the way).
    * Since today, I'm dropping the Var from 100mg ED to 50mg ED.

I'll buy Niacin off Amazon too, thanks for that link almostgone.

I remember about 10 years ago a guy in my gym dropped dead, he was only about 30. He wasn't monitoring his bloods at all, he just kept taking more and more. I don't want that happening to me.

If my cholesterol hasn't improved 30 days from now, I'm abandoning cycle and focusing my entire life on fixing my cholesterol.

At my local health store they're telling me that there's two kinds of Niacin, the Flush kind and the non-Flush kind. What's that about?

EDIT: I see that the non-flush kind is just a slow-release tablet with a coating on it.

    jesus fucking christ

I just experienced my first Niacin flush. All the medical journals say that it is harmless, but fucking hell that was extreme.

I got Omega 3 oil, and also cod liver oil. I'm taking 10 ml of each per day.

Salmon is expensive so I just bought a pound of trout, I need to figure out which fish I like. Trout is pinky-red like salmon so I'd say it's the most similar.

Steelhead trout is one of my favorites.... especially grilled over coals. Steelhead doesn't have as strong of a taste as salmon, but its nutritional profile is better in regards to fats.
Steelhead and rainbow are basically the same fish except steelhead go to sea and return to freshwater rivers to spawn.

I had just over half a lb of trout for dinner lastnight, it was nice, nice enough to replace salmon.

I still need to lose 5 lb for boxing so my dinner every day is a little over half a pound of salmon / trout.

Wish me luck I'm about to take my second Niacin pill. Yesterday was fucking extremely, hopefully it's a little better today. I took aspirin earlier, supposedly it reduces the flush.

Seriously yesterday I went bright red all over -- it could really freak a person out if you spiked them with it, they'd think they were having a heart attack or something.
